Already Bored...

I switched because I could not get over the fact that the Nexus S is a 6 month old phone. It was hard for me to give it up, for the reasons you just stated...but I could not resist the latest and greatest hardware on the 3D.

With my nexus I had issues with the radios like most ppl, my 4G was dead slow compared to the EVO, and my browser performance and game performance on the nexus did not compare to the 3D. And you can only tether the 3G connection, not 4G yet for some reason.

But the 3D is not bad when it comes to battery life in my opinion, and I feel like ppl will agree. Plus, once root is achieved, I will also have free wireless tethering, faster updated, and even better battery life.

I have been considering the same. I have the 3D, but I'm not sure I want to keep it. Enough little hitches make me reconsider my early adopter status on this phone.

I will wait until the Nexus S 4G update drops later this week and gauge the response to the radio fixes and other tweaks (maybe even 2.3.6?). Depending on that news, I may jump ship. It will be hard going "back in time" in many respects, so I don't know which way I'll go yet.

The Galaxy S2 vs Evo 3D debate is silly. It's like saying an apple tastes better than a banana. They're both great devices, each with its own characteristics that allow people to prefer one over the other. In the end, they both do the same thing (outside of 3D video capture and playback), and do it very well.

I admit I'm holding out for the Galaxy S2 release, but I'm not going to sit here and bash a great phone.

Truthfully the SGS2 is a bad a** phone and I admit that... But It has its down fall as well... Touch wiz for one is garbage... Our camera on the 3d is garbage.. But what kills me is I dont have to use the camera every day, but if I get the SGS2 I have to look at ugly touch wiz every freaking day lol.. Its a little faster but seriously who really cares if your app opens up 0.3 seconds faster.. But when you do need the camera its amazing.. My girl has the infuse and that camera and super amoled plus is the ****.. Just be happy with what you have.. We all know in the ever evolving road of android there will be a phone out better then the SGS2 as soon as it comes out lol... Its kinda how android works... haaa

I have read quite a few articles talking about why it takes so long for the GS2 to be released. Some blame Motorola for it saying they know how to implement CDMA better than Samsung does, others are saying that Samsung is reluctant to repeat what they did last year, make a slightly different phone for each carrier. Seems like negotiations between Samsung and the local 4 is what's causing the problems. Still wondering why, if CDMA is the problem, TMo and AT&T don't have theirs out yet?

Guess we will find out eventually.

Oh yeah...and the biggest drawback to the GS2 is.....well.....can't buy it yet!

Dudes be easy. We're supposed to be on the same team. Buy what you like. It will be behind the curve in a few months when the next Android Super Phone (GS II, Nexus, Evo Shift II, Atrix successor, Etc.) comes out anyway. Pointless thread.

Okay.. You will get bored with the gs2 aswell. Touchwiz isnt exciting, and the gs2 is not that much faster at all.. So, get whatever phone you would like good luck with that..

What should have been the first question, do you WANT to be excited about a phone? After all, I have an app for almost everything, lol. AC keeps me interested on the daily... My guess is, you don't want to put that much effort in... just judging by your profile pic, you remind me of Larry David's show, Curb your Enthusiasm. Of course, I am a huge fan, so thats not a bad thing... I just think if I were you, I'd like getting front page attention on AC!...even if it meant bringing the drama/conflict. Personally, I finally can collect games because I can have WAY more apps, better quality display, dlna, and, like one poster said, watch movies in 3D--Still looking for the gimmick part there... You may say I'm a sucker...but I'm not the only one

I know there is never going to be a phone that everyone likes, which is why there are so many different phones and carriers. I don't need anyone to validate my decision whether or not to keep mine. Just like the Best Buy commercial says, as soon as you buy something "the next big thing" is released. I am not going to let some "maybe" affect a "definite" in my life. While I do read reviews, I let my own experience with something influence my purchasing decision (hence the 30-day trial period). I don't go around showing off my phone, but if someone asks about it I give them a little demo and let them play a bit and I have gotten nothing but positive feedback.

I realize that a lot of posts here are by people who have questions, and I can say I've learned a lot by reading and participating, and hopefully I have helped a person or two along the way. Having said that, if I made my choice of phones solely based on posts here, I would never have even tried the 3D!

Sure I may be bored with 3D since there is not a lot of content to view. However I have a beast of a phone that smokes most other phones. The battery life on my phone beats the pants off my old evo4g and that alone make me happy. Bottom line is that the 3vo is a fantastic phone regardless of whether you like 3d or not. Basically all these phones do pretty much the same thing check email,texts and some web surfing. The phone companys market "gimmicky" new things to sell phones and most of here were sold on either the 3d or the specs of the phone. Me personally I was sold on both 3d and the specs of the phone which to me are both simply amazing. I just wish I had more 3d stuff to watch..

Most people that I know who have the phone agree with me that the battery performance is equal to or worse than the EVO 4G...so you must be one of those who dont use their phone.

I came from the EVO 4G and I can tell you that while I loved the phone itself, the battery life of the 3D is better out of the box than my rooted and tweaked 4G. I use my phone a lot from web browsing, posting on forums, Facebook, etc. in addition to listening to music, taking pictures, making calls, and texting. If you are unhappy then you should definitely return your 3D, but to make such blanket statements about people not knowing what is good and what isn't and insinuating people who like this phone must have come from crappy phones is very condescending. You may not intend to come across that way because communication online can be tricky but that is how I interpret what you are posting.
