Alternatives to the Nexus 10

haha this thread is funny... anyway

So all we gathered so far is an iPad or a Note 10.1... After a little research I have ordered a Nexus 10 because for the price of it I dont think i could buy a better tablet. I admit I love Android i love tweaking customizing and modding though some apps on Android now dont work if you are rooted which sucks a little. For the price of a Nexus 10 I dont think there is an alternative. Though if you want a smaller tablet for around the same price the iPad mini is going to hard to beat, yes we could say get the Nexus 7 if you want a small tablet. Each to their own I guess.

Bottom line if you want a good 10" Tablet then the Nexus 10 is going to be hard to beat. But get what suits your needs.

The Nexus 10 is the current undisputed king of Android 10" tablets. Its only real competition is the ipad 4, but then you're getting into the battle of the operating systems.

I would disagree that the ipad mini is hard to beat for a smaller tablet. I bought the Nexus 7 and the ipad mini concurrently and used them side by side. The difference in screen resolution was huge. The ipad mini's screen resolution is really bad. Not to mention the Nexus 7 is significantly less expensive and has much better styling (styling is subjective I know, but what man wants to walk around with one of those feminine curved ipad minis - frankly, I was repulsed by it).

OK the Nexus 7 is the king of small(er) tablets.

I had a Surface RT and that resolution was apparently bad??? But i couldn't day anything wrong with it tbh. I think the how resolution thing on screens is the new megapixel wars on cameras to the average consumer. Yes it makes a little difference but so many other things have to be taken into consideration about screens. What I'm trying to say is without having them side by side it doesn't bother me at all!

I am easily impressed though... I was impressed watching a 720p version of Game of Thrones of my HP Touchpad hahaha!

Then how about you quit with the ongoing personal attacks.

Whose the one who kept an argument up for 3 pages in the other topic? I wouldn't be so quick to judge others if I were you.

Especially since you seem intent to keep them going.

This is from me, on my EVO 3D.

As far as screen resolution goes, I've found that for me anything under 200 PPI is unacceptable (I'm disappointed to see the Note 8.0 will only have 189 PPI). But once you're over around 260 PPI, everything will look excellent, and it really is just a spec battle.

Again, it's all about which OS you prefer. But I'm inclined to agree that the N7 is in alot of ways the best mini tablet out there.

Asus TF700 screen is to my eyes about as good as the N10. The iPad 3 or 4 also. Sound is better on the N10. I like the screen aspect ratio on the iPads better than the Android machines, but the apps I want (for a wonder) are not available on iPad. So I struggle along with the power, awesome screen and great sound of the N10. Poor me :)

I bought and returned the TF700 three times. It was literally unusable with all the freezes and crashes. I've read it was better before the JB upgrade. I've also read that those issues can be resolved by rooting, but that seemed a big hassle.

The screen of the TF700 is good, I think about the same as the Nexus 7. Where I really noticed a difference compared the Nexus 10 was reading magazine text.

I also prefer the ipad's 4:3 aspect ratio. I wish some of the Androids had that ratio as I rarely watch movies on my tablets.

I never had any stability problems with my 700, either before or after update. So I'm good with it.
