Always on display - clear view cover - any options to change?

Folks,

I'm helping a friend set up her s8+ (I have to wait until tomorrow to get mine at Best Buy, dang it), and she doesn't like the clock display that shows when she closes her "Clear View Standing Cover" case. You know -- the stupid one with the minutes above the hour. I have tried everything -- yes, I know how to set the Lock Screen to show the "Always On Display," I know how to change that display to choose something else, that she likes, but it seems like the display you get when you close the "Clear View Standing Cover" case doesn't have any options to change that display -- or at the least, I sure as heck can't find anything anywhere.

If you have a clue about how to change that, I'd love to hear from you!

So does the AOD work with this case? I just unboxed mine and when you shut the case the AOD disappears, is there a setting I am missing?

Nope, you get the one clock display that you can't change, and it's not AOD. The only options should be in Advanced Features -> Accessories -> Clear View Cover, and there isn't much meat there. Certainly not an option to change the clock display, and nothing about AOD at all.

I like this case a lot, but it is annoying that AOD is not always on

Hopefully Samsung will push out some better options in an update as I would prefer a different clock config too. I liked my Note 4 s-view case for this reason.

As above, I have the S8+ with case and hate the clock.

I have replaced the Note 4 (with Samsung case) and agree with all sentiments... Samsung please listen and take note. Give us the option to change this feature please.

I have the same gripe about not seeing the AOD with the Clear View Cover. I love the case, but I loved the AOD more. I shouldn't have to choose between the two, especially after spending $60 for the case. Also, I'm not seeing the "Accessories" category within the "Advanced Features" menu. Any ideas why not?

U can change it but I forgot how I did a month ago I'm trying to do it again u can on the galaxy 7 too

it is not under Advanced features, just go to settings and scroll down further, you will see accessories eventually; however the only thing in there now is a link back to the lock screen menu... which doesn't have squat as advertised

Try this:

Settings>Display>Looking for Something Else?>AOD Display. Six choices on the clock (I don't like the default digital either), plus some other choices.

Yep, this.

A major draw back of a clear cover. Makes AOD useless. What is most frustrating is you not only lose the AOD but also the cover does not show any notifications. Big miss.

With your Clear View Cover open and your AOD displaying the time, put your finger over the light sensor at the top, that will shut off AOD from displaying. That's what the Clear View Cover does, it covers over the light sensor and AOD shuts off from displaying. I have LG G6 phone.
