Im considering leaving Verizon and my unlimited Data plan behind for AT&T. Am I crazy? I think of it like this.... We have more options with GSM. Google will sell the Nexus from now on for a no contract price cheaper than the stores. Verizon will probably never see another Nexus. If we like a phone that is ether not coming to the states or coming 6 months later we can still buy one.

I was thinking the same. Nothing to think you're crazy about. I was thinking of doing the same. I was going to switch to At&t like 2-3 years ago but changed my mind when me and my girl was at a restaurant in NYC and I had the original Droid she had an iPhone 3G and she couldn't get a good signal to save her life while my phone was working just fine. I think At&t has fixed most of there network issues now so I may look to give them a look again. If Verizon did timely updates, make more of there phones GSM compatible for overseas use(i.e. Incredible 2, rezoned, Galaxy S3) and stop turning down good phones (i.e. Galaxy S2, HTC One X) I wouldn't consider looking else where. The only down side is At&t LTE coverage isn't as huge as Verizon's right now but HSPA+ is a good fall back.

HSPA+ is acutally pretty fast and more realible than 4G LTE. Im still confused only because of that unlimited but really considering it.

I'll probably switch to TMo with Unlimited everything for 50/line (unlimited data (throttled above 2GB, unlimited text and minutes)). For 2 lines its only 100/month vs. 150/month I'm on now. TMo are getting same if not better phones than Verizon anyways.

I'm test driving AT&T. If I like it (and I do so far) then I'll port my Verizon number over. So you are not alone.

If you stayed with Verizon would you be willing to pay full price for phones from now on to keep unlimited data? Something to consider as well.

I didn't think about that. I personally don't have my own plan. I'm on a family plan with my mom n dad. Sister and brother in law. So I could potentially leave Verizon at any time. Just shut down my line. I've considered other networks but I'm not sure about network coverage. So I'm still on the fence right now. I pay $55 a month that includes unlimited data. But I now have to pay full price for any devices that I want. I also have a line in my name open for my wife. Verizon as well. We pay $100 a month for that. If T-Mobile has $50 per line unlimited with subsidized pricing. I may consider that. Save $50 a month too.

Exactly what I was trying to say. I'm on the west coast. I live in the silicon valley. I'm not sure how tmoblie covers that area.

Only thing to consider about T-Mobile is that 1 their coverage isn't as good as att or Verizon. And some GSM phones don't use t mobiles bands for hspa 3g etc. So art usually works with more international phones.

True att and tmo have different 3g bands. But where I live tmo coverage is pretty decent and unlimited everything for 50/line is really cheap because I'm also in college with a car loan im paying off as well. I use my phone mostly for text, max data ive used in a month is about 6gb.

you are not crazy. this is a very viable option that i am considering too. it's sad that verizon has painted itself into a corner.

That's one thing I was worried about was coverage. I talked to my wife about it. She's not for it and I forgot that she has a business write off on her line.

I'm thinking about switching as well. I have vzw lte 2 miles on either side of me but 3g only here. I'm also on an unlimited plan. According to att coverage map, I would get hspa+ but no lte. I really don't have the funds to buy out right to keep my unlimited, also I would be paying about $20 more if I switch.

Well I mean... I just spoke to Verizon today and the shared data isn't looking so bad.... They said if I switch they will include a bottle of lube with it....;) That is a savings of a few dollars right?

I'll stay with Verizon as long as I get to keep unlimited. Don't mind paying full price for my phones to keep it because I use a crazy amount of data every month.

But if Verizon ever changes their minds and takes unlimited away, I'll switch to the $30/month T-Mobile plan with unlimited data (5GB unthrottled).

Very well said. I'll do the exact same thing when and if the time comes.

My friend is always doting over TMo unlimited plan. I just can't live without ICS or the fact we'll get JB soon. Nothing on TMo will get JB soon. He says he doesn't experience any lack of coverage. Whatever:confused:

What? T-Mobile has the Galaxy S III and One S. Both should get Jelly Bean as fast as any other phone on any other network besides a Nexus. And you can buy a Galaxy Nexus for only $349 from Google and use it on T-Mobile. If I switched from Verizon to T-Mobile, I'd save $40/month. My savings would cover the entire phone in just 9 months.

Trust me, I wouldn't be with Verizon if I didn't have unlimited data.
