Just picked up the V20 this evening and so far not very impressed with the camera. Admittedly, I'm no Ansel Adams, more of a point and shooter, but I'm just not seeing the quality in my shots that I see in the reviews and from other folks here on the forums. No, there's no plastic on the lens, the shots just look bad. Capturing any kind of movement is blurry, and the stills are very grainy when I crop in after the shot. Medium to low light environment , but as a reference to myself I took the same shots on my 6S plus, which I know to be poor in low light, and they look considerably better on the 6S.

Are there some default settings that should be changed, or did I just get spoiled by the N7/S7E camera? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

i havent taken many pics, but so far i think theyre ok
are you shooting in standard or wide mode? i'd imagine wide is not as clear.

Part of why I returned it

It is set to 12mp 16:9 by default but the pictures looks way better in 16mp - 4:3 ....Note 7 also shot in 4:3

Try playing around with the manual modes. You'd be surprised how much better off a shot you can get with that in difficult lighting. I do take issue with how the V20 handles low light in auto mode. It likes to crank up the ISO way more than I'd like, which contributes to a lot of the noise.

Question is can you set a customer ISO for low light, or do you have to mess with it every time? Not a tap and shoot device if not, which is most photo situations.

I'm not aware of custom scene settings, which I agree would be nice. I've tried other camera apps and so far haven't found anything that lets you lock in only ISO. According to the Camera FV-5 app (one of the more advanced apps) manual, it sounded like that app should let you lock in ISO and still auto expose the shutter speed. So this may be a firmware issue that needs LG to free up with an update or custom ROM's and such.

It really makes a big deference changing the 12mp 16:9 to 16mp - 4:3 there are a few teaks that you can play with. it does take a very good capture.
