Looks like T-Mo is getting another hot-diggity phone. Assuming it has a full 1GB of RAM, this is HTC's best phone yet if you have good T-Mobile service. Everything you love about the Sensation, with HSPA+ 42, NFC, and the new great camera thrown in -- wrapped up in a white shell.

I hope they get it on the bootloader unlock list quick, and if so, I think I may be picking up this one for myself.

check out the announcement here.

Anyone else ready for this one to come out?

Edit: Now that things are official and T-mo has the page live I see three things --
Yes, 1Gb of RAM
Aluminum uni-body shell (not white though)
Same camera hardware and software as the MyTouch 4G Slide.

I like it even better now :)

The Amaze looks like a amazing device (No pun intended) My only other choice at the moment would be the Galaxy S2.

This phone looks really good, I'm glad that's aluminum instead of white (white would have been a deal breaker for me :)) . We have good t-mobile service here in Chicago and I plan on trying this phone out, I'm pretty unhappy with a lot of changes that are coming down the pike with Sprint and after 11+ years I'm thinking about jumping ship

*** Edit - I stand corrected, the back actually is either white or black, just the unibody part is aluminum. both the White and Black look good in the press pictures but I'd go with black since the front is black as well. Would have been cool if the entire body was aluminium!

Always been partial to the HTC brand since my Nexus One. (still have) Like the 4.3 inch screen, perfect size IMO. All int. specs are what I have been calling for. Only question for someone that may have the answer, How does the screen compare with the Samsung GS11???

I have the Sensation with Cyanogen running on it. The Amaze will be my next device I think.

Vinny :)

This question is for Jerry, if you are out there??

Jerry I am partial to the HTC phones, saying that I would not just buy one if there was a better one available. In your opinion do you think this is better then the T-Mobile version of the GS11? They both have just about the same int specs but the HTC has better hardware, I think. It is built of mostly aluminum and opens up like the Sensation, if the pictures I saw were right. What do you think without holding them? I also like the idea of the 4.3 inch screen, just the right size IMO. Please give me your thoughts on these two phones.
Thanks Jerry, always listening to you,
Vinny

I feel comfortable answering this question after having talked to Jerry about a great many things over the past months.

Unless you are absolutely sold on SAMOLED+ the Amaze looks like the better device. It's sexy (for a phone), has a great design, awesome camera (better than SGSII in some cases, the same in the rest), and will probably see timelier updates than the SGSII.

The display is a trade off, really. SAMOLED+ is awesome, but the Amaze is qHD, which displays more information on the screen at any given time.

It also says a lot when Jerry says he'd get one for himself (if the bootloader gets unlocked, of course, since he likes to tinker).

The Amaze looks like MT4G with a bigger screen, especially the speaker grille. I wonder if the Amaze speaker sounds just as bad as MT4G. The choice between Amaze and SG2 will be an interesting one.

trying to decide which one i'd get and here are the differences:

SGS2 - bigger battery, SAMOLED, bigger screen
amaze - heavier (coming from an N1, i like the solid feel), better camera

i wish they could just combine em into 1 phone. what else is there to take into consideration?

SGS2 has a bigger screen, but lower resolution. I'm torn myself. I really like the form factor of the Amaze. I have an N1 also, and it just reminds me of it, and feels good in the hand. I have a Desire HD too, but it seems to square in the hand sometimes, and I think the SGS2 would be the same. Hmmm decisions decisions.....

The only decision for me, also N1, is the possibility of the next Nexus with 720p display on T-Mobile.

The rumor mill says no so far, but the rumor has often been wrong.

The new Sammy GSII-4G 720p version would win, but its Korea only for now. The Next Nexus is supposed to be late October early November time frame, so to wait, or not to wait, that is my question.

This is basically a fancier Sensation, right? The enclosure looks similarly designed (pop out rear case), and the specs are also very similar.

Its a curious phone. Wonder if it was meant to be a myTouch but they changed their mind.

You are correct on both. It's basically a Sensation on roids, and yes, it's replacing the MT4G.

would have to agree with REiMei "The Amaze looks like a amazing device (No pun intended) My only other choice at the moment would be the Galaxy S2." However I think the Galaxy S2 is a bit better cause of the screen and DNLA feature the HTC does not have:cool:

I was considering getting the Sensation before I heard about this phone, but after watching the videos I'm sold on getting the Amaze 4G instead. Overall the phone just looks nicer and it has better specs than the Sensation. This would be a great replacement for my mytouch 4G.

I went and played with the Amaze today, they had a demo at the T-Mo store, wasn't even hooked up to a security thingamabob... It was beautful and soooo sturdy...

Speakers sounded strong, pictures were brilliant, phone was super fast, and it supposedly has NFC AND an actual app to use it (forgot to check that out but ima go visit it again and see : )

Wish it were wider like EVO 4G but still, what a beautiful device... It was the frosted silvery one with the black accents, nice! Not lovin' that price, but wayyyy more worth it than that ugly Bionic...lol
