Amazon app store and its battery thieving ways

AAS is eating my battery alive and I haven't even opened it. Anyone else seeing this? Solutions?

Some past versions had battery use problems. The Appstore also isn't very good at detecting if it needs to update itself, so your version may be one of these out of date versions. As suggested above, try uninstalling it and installing the latest version at http://www.amazon.com/amazonappstor...ag=hawk-future-20&ascsubtag=UUacUvbUpU2686100.

I've never seen the AAS show up in my battery stats as consuming anything but a negligible amount.
