Amazon APPSTORE Free app of the day.

I don't use their appstore because their app must be on your phone for the downloaded apps to run. On top of it, their app wants to run all the time...

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Amazon is thwarting piracy this way.
Good on them.

The application developers get to choose if they want to use the DRM you described or not. Amazon does not force applications sold at the Amazon AppStore to use Amazon's DRM.

Well, besides angry birds rio, another app I downloaded would not work without the app store present on the phone. Since both apps are free, I think this is stupid and won't be using it again.

So when I checked before bed the free app was something else...
I was too tired to copy paste from my phone so I didnt even mess with it.
Today I remember I didnt post it lastnight and go to check and now its newsweek app.. /shrug

Amazon.com: Newsweek Mobile: Appstore for Android

The free app today was Farm Frenzy, they removed it because it asked for privileged information it didn't need. Too many complaints.

Edit: Nvm it wasn't removed, just changed. Strange. /shrug

I remember seeing people complain about why it needed your phone contact list.
Just couldnt think of the name.
Thanks for posting, I had been trying to remember what it was.

FYI the appstore app sends amazon yur phone number and uuid. it also keeps stats on the apps you use and sends the data to amazon. not sure i want amazon marketing to follow my every move. not worth the free apps.

How is this any different than Android Market? I fail to see your point.

Cool. Been waiting for this to hit the free thing.

My son likes the Veggie Samurai-ish copycat Camel's Kitchen (free ad version available on the Google Marketplace, also the paid version with no ads)... which works fine on the Optimus V. However, it doesn't want to install on my NookColor.

Fruit Ninja is the "original", though games like Camel's Kitchen does the multislice (from Veggie Samurai), which is different than Fruit Ninja. All kind of fun games.

If you uninstall the android market your apps will still run just not update.
With amazon its part of the drm they incorporate, if you remove the APPSTORE the app will not work. Unless you use something like Titanium backup and force link it to the android market (I think).
