How can I restore my proxys back again?

Got them from xda, I actually got slower. But I think its because of my Airvana.

I contacted Sprint via chat today and told them about this issue.

This was the agents reply:
"Please hold a moment while I access your account."
"I have checked it and there is no issue with Sprint while using this application."

Not sure what he checked, but in my years with Sprint I've found that most of the folks on the other end of Sprint chat are idiots.

OK, I rebooting and updated the profile and noticed I had no connectivity on Wi-Fi. None at all. Gmail wasn't updating and browsers can't connect. Turned off Wi-Fi and things work now. What the heck? Turned the Wi-Fi back on and it works fine. Must not have pulled an IP from the router or something.

All I did was change HTTP PD Proxy port back to 8085 and HTTP PD Proxy address to pd.vog.sprintpcs.com, so what's going on? The Amazon MP3 warning has popped back into the notification bar once it hit the Sprint airwaves.

Try changing your Amazon MP3 app to only use wifi for downloads and streaming. I think the new battery drain is the Amazon app actually working and using way too much data. It says it connects to refresh your library every 10 minutes. Really? 10 minutes? How often do they think I buy music? Before I made this change I noticed that my 3G data indicators were on solid for long periods of time. I changed the amazon app to not use 3G and it doesn't appear to be happening anymore. Worth a shot....

That makes no sense and would defeat the whole purpose of a cloud-based system. If you're only going to stream while on wi-fi, then why not just use your PC with big speakers? The issue with unacceptable power drain is when we change the proxies, not using the app.

I know it defeats the purpose but it is a good test to see who is at fault for the increase it battery usage. Is it the system because of the proxy change or is it the Amazon app because it can now connect reliably? So far I am thinking its the latter, and hopefully Amazon will refine its application.

How much have you uploaded to Amazon's cloud storage?

I don't know about the others, but I wasn't using the Amazon app at all yesterday while it guzzled down the juice. Also, setting it to only use wi-fi doesn't test the proxy issue as a cause of battery drain. What would need to be done is to change the proxies and use a phone without the app being installed or used in the first place.

If I am rooted, can I call Sprint and have them fix this issue? Or do I need to flash another ROM?

Call Sprint tech support directly. 1-877-507-4287

They will make you turn the phone off, and when they tell you to turn it back on, they tell you to go and update profile and it will confirm a update after finished and the problem is gone. Give them that HTC EVO 4G A9292 UPDATE 2-1-2011 code and they know exactly what your talking about. CS cannot help with this, has to be tech support. Basically they push a profile update to your device with the correct values.

Have you called that number? Having 4 airwaves is irrelevant to this topic. It only took one call to that number for me and he knew exactly. Be polite and give them that code.
