Ambient display battery life

Does ambient display use a good amount of battery life? Because I find my battery to be decreasing a good amount when it just sitting in my pocket but I get a lot of notifications so I'm wondering because the screen turns on when I get notifications that's what must be causing it

Ambient Display, in and of itself, doesn't really much power at all. What IS consuming the power is whatever is constantly waking up your phone (and popping all those notifications). Take a look at what apps are constantly firing notifications and see if they are all necessary.

yes, ambient display uses nearly no power, since the screen is mostly black. apps are draining power, and maybe if the ambient display is turning on, and then the screen itself is turning on in your pocket, perhaps using some battery there

It's mainly texts and Snapchat notifications I get and my screen turns on from them
