Hopefully it'll come sooner rather than later...and won't suffer the fate of the Merge. Like the Merge, it'll have stiff competition that VZW might decide to prioritize over it: The Galaxy S II, IF Pocket Now's guess about when it'll come out is right.

This or Galaxy S II...that'll be a hard decision for me..,

Looks like. Rumor mill says that there will be a Epic2 coming but its not the GSII phone. It will be more or less the same as it is now but it will be a 1.2 ghz Processor.
It could be like to one that Metro PCS got. The Indulge? In the article it says its in the I400 like the continuum. so it would make the phone for Verizon a mid-level phone like they state.

A 1.2 GHZ single core phone is not midrange. Still high end.

I didn't mean that it would be 1.2 and that is a mid-level phone. The Epic2 rumored to have a 1.2 single core where as the article for the virizon phone states that the phone coming has an ID# i 400's witch puts it inline with the cunrtnuums ID# . So if the cuntinuum is a mid-level phone then this 1 might be considered 1 aas well. But the Epic or anything in that range of specs as of right now isn't Mid-range but soon it will be with all these dual caores comes and soon to be quadcore phones. lol

Ah i got ya. Yeah, Continuum seems to be a flop...haven't seen a single Continuum ever. This should sell a LOT better.

1 GHZ is plenty fast, and is still high end. You only need dual core if your playing mass 3D/ HD games. Yes, Dual core is high end, but single core still has the rest of this year, and maybe next to still be considered high end.

? is this Epic coming in a dualcore? Cause if it does then it would be the GSII . I dont understand what does this have to do with the Epic on Verizon.

While that may be true, one has to remember that this segment is slowly shrinking in terms of market as more makers do without hardware keyboards and carriers want the allure that a slab device provides. Therefore any somewhat decent device in the segment is important to many people. With this phone and Droid 3 there will be 2 viable high end options for vzw customers, with Merge in very limited release for the midrange crowd.

We have honestly not fully tapped out the gpu and hummingbird processor. If Samsung has learned anything they will stick full 1GB of ram in there, overclock to 1.2Ghz like stated, and release it with 2.3.4... that would truly be "epic" regardless of the carrier... unless its AT&T that is! ;-)

Eh I actually prefer touchwiz if a skin's present on a phone. That's why Android's awesome, so much choice so everyone's happy

Ohh yeah. NOW we're talking. LTE, a great screen, and a keyboard largely untouched from the Epic. If this has Galaxy S II internals (As the post suggests) then sign me up. Hell, even if it doesn't...I'm in.

anything is better then MOTO BLUR.

trust me, ive played with touchwiz 4.0, the thing FLIES.

its much better then 3.0.

as far as the epic, it can be over clocked to 1.4ghz and undervolted nicely.

i dont run 1300 or 1400mhz because they get my phone too warm, but running 1.2 overclocked and undervolted the phone flies, great benchmarks, and battery life is great. i got 20 hours of usage today.

this will be a great phone that will last a long time for people.

personally, only issue i have with the epic is the hinges, they become loose.mine kinda waffles back and forth when the screen is closed.

ive never used the hard keyboard and wish i didnt get it with one
