I spent years staring at glaringly bright white Android screens.... since dark mode came around the eye strain has ended lol. I'll never go back to the light side ;)

Haha, fair enough. I'm just saying that dark mode also inhibits the material you auto-theming colors and isn't completely black it's more of a dark gray but I do understand what you're talking about lol.

I totally agree. I prefer dark mode and keep it on permanently. A lot better on my eyes.

Just got a new and thinner case for my 4a 5G and finally quick Tap is working again. Plus it feels nicer in the hand

Curious. What case did you get? I'm using the Google fabric case, which I love holding, but always interested in other alternatives.

Yeah, I moved to light mode for a few minutes just to try it out, but weren't back to dark mode. Much easier on these old eyes.

I was Today Years Old when I discovered (quite accidentally)that you can swipe through your open apps by dragging your thumb (or any finger really) left to right along the bottom edge where the screen meets frame, instead of having to swipe up and swipe. Seems handy for swapping back and forth between a few apps, others that have been open for awhile probably easier to get to by swiping up (ie if you have a bunch open and you need to go to the back of the one)
Not sure how long that feature has been around. Knowing me, it's probably been there forever and I just never knew it

Yeah since Android 10 gesture navigation was introduced

Am I late? Dark mode for the win! The really black mode is to contrasted against text IMHO so a dark grey is preferable but the old white mode definitely is to bright for my eyeballs.

Thinner always feels nicer in the hand for me (and pocket ;) ), as long as it still gives some protection.

Yeah. Really good lip around the face to protect front glass. I had Amex reward points so the case was free. Put a popsocket basic on the back with gorilla glue and it works so well. The Caseology was a lovely case but this one is just so perfect.

It's harder than folks think to find a case that has the feel, look, and protection we as individuals are looking for. I tend to stick to certain brands that I've found fit me the best.... although I'm always open to trying something new ;) I've heard good things about X-Level, very nice looking cases with full wrap around protection, I've almost tried them a couple times (that exact color and style of case) and probably will now after hearing how much you like it Kizzy :p

Caseology is one of my go to cases... I have a brand new one waiting to go on my current pixel ;)

I have the material you themed Gmail mentioned in this article, I believe. The compose button and meet. But I could be wrong.
