You need this version from apkmirror.

https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/ although this is newer than the version I have installed.

And that is the frustrating issue. Some recent (in the last year) Pixel models don't get the same features that others do.
Thank you for posting that link. It will be helpful for those who want that.

Kizzy, do you have the Google Beta app? I think I read that those widgets are in the beta.

Tell me how to add that weather widget to the main page!
The one that is currently there cannot be removed and I can load that weather widget, under google widgets, to a new blank page, but it will not allow me to drag to the main page.

I'm starting to get tired of a bunch of snowflakes changing things that work ok to something they think is ok with NO reason other than they might like it. At least this version is guaranteeing a Pixel 6 will never be in my pocket.

This is the one that appeared after update to 12

I can remove the actual weather info, but cannot remove date, and I cannot add the one shown under google widgets to this page.

My wife downloaded A12 on her Pixel 4a. The first thing see noticed was the change in the pull down Quick Settings. Let's just say it isn't her favorite change. She said it looks more like it should be on AARP phones.

I installed 12 on my pixel 3XL earlier today.....1.65 gigs of update installed in about 10 minutes from hitting the check for update button till it restarted in to 12... unbelievable  I had set my screen timeout for 30 minutes, because I figured it would take longer than the monthly security updates, man was I shocked

It installed perfectly, and is working flawlessly so far, with all features active. I have it set up with the full 12 look, icons, clock, and dark mode on. I think it looks great, nice change from 11. My wife on the other hand thinks it's the ugliest thing she's ever seen on a phone lol. She said it looks washed out, and said the new monochromatic settings menu was much harder to read than 11's with the colored icons.
She also hated the huge quick toggle buttons/notification shade setup. Basically she hated every part of it she saw

So far it's got the big thumbs down from 2 wives.... I'm starting to suspect it may not be a big hit with all the ladies lol.

And with some husbands.
I wish there was a way to adjust the sizes. Wives might think the same.

BUG - It was too fast for me to grab a screen shot, but while browsing settings the navigation arrows glitched out. Instead of a "back" arrow it had the words "BACK ARROW --" and some text that got cut off, and after a moment this flashed and went away and the actual UI arrow was there instead.

Also fully agree with the above. As someone with poor eyesight, the huge chonky buttons are actually worse for me. They take up a lot of screen real estate and look totally broken at the sizes I need the fonts to be to read them. I already miss the old UI, a lot.

Thanks for the advice but this didn’t work for me on my 4a. Interesting.
Check Play Store. There is a Google app update that I received a few minutes ago on my Pixel 4a that restores the weather widgets. I don't use those but just checking to help those who do.

Nothing there. I’ll keep checking through the day.

Try signing up for the Google app beta and then check it in a few minutes. That's what I did right before I got the update. There isn't any indication that the update is linked to the beta program. Maybe it was a coincidence.

Thanks but I’ll just wait for Google to get their act together.

I don't think the universe will last that long.

Agree. Most likely for sure, not soon enough for me. Might be time to dump Android. I already refuse to use google search, web browsers, might be time to dump the phone too. Granted I'm not in a good mood, and peed off, but I am researching that "other" company that makes phones.

I refuse to bite into Eve's fruit.
Good luck in your search.

That's exactly what I thought. I'm a farsighted 63 year old man, but those huge bubbles and the gigantic size of the lock screen clock, that can't be adjusted, looks more like it is for someone legally blind. Ridiculously large and unattractive.

Might just wait and see if Samsung fixes these problems when they release the S22 and their new 4.0 UI. If they do, I'll jump to Ultra and forget ever thinking of the Pixel 6 (which admittedly I find rather ugly at this time...but).

As for those big buttons, I wonder were they high when they designed this software and had a hard time reading the smaller buttons?

I have loaded on a weather widget but cannot delete the small widget in the top left corner of the main screen. I have to wonder why; but probably due to a bunch of stoned nerds in a basement in CA.
