My battery life has dropped significantly. Only just under 24 hours and less than 5 SoT to 25% when I would be over a day and a half with 6 to 7bhours SoT for same percentage. Dunno why it has dropped so much. And it is draining badly on standby.

Oh wow damn it I'm really sorry to hear that. You know it's interesting because the Reddit subform for beta Android 12 everyone's complaining about the same exact thing. Maybe it's just a fact that like I said when my phones idle and I'm not using it, I flipped it screened down so my always-on lock screen sensor turns off and it's not using battery when it shouldn't be using battery. But a lot of people on Reddit subform for Android 12 beta, and a few people here are complaining about the same exact thing. I'm not so sure why beta 5 is running that much more battery than 4.1 though. That is very weird. Did you submit a bug report and a complaint to Google beta feedback though?

From what Eric said that seems to be a common complaint with beta 5... it's too bad because I was going to jump on 5 since I figured it would be pretty close to the public release stability wise. Guess I'll wait and watch a little longer ;)

I'm actually enjoying watching it come together through you guys though :D

My battery life has been great on my Pixel 4a with Beta 5. Absolutely no complaints with battery life nor with much of anything else.

Honestly from my Pixel 5 on beta 5, knock on wood haha, my battery has been absolutely fine myself. I'm not sure if it's due to the fact of forcing the sensor to turn my voice on lock screen display off when I'm not using my phone, or just beta 5 in general. But my battery has been absolutely fine I have no complaints. At least for the way I use my phone. I mean I take a couple of phone calls a day on my phone, but I don't heavily use my phone. I'm usually on my laptop. But yeah my battery has been fine so far. Like I said in the past , it's interesting and then someone annoying and a beta build how some / a lot of people can have the same issue, and then others would not have that same beta issue at all. That's the annoying part of about being on a beta program.

Yeah like I commented, my pixel 5 on beta 5 so far knock on wood is absolutely fine. There are a few different nuances and annoyances still, but that's the expected. For example if you're in vibrate only mode, unless you swipe down on your notification shade, you do not see the vibrate only symbol in your status bar like you do in silent all mode for some reason. Google hasn't fixed this since beta 1 of Android 12, so I'm not sure if they actually will or if this is an intentional thing, but it's annoying to me. Also, for the always on lock screen clock font, it's not consistent... Sometimes it's in the mentor you theme, and most of the time it's regular. I've reported this to Google many many times, but it's just inconsistent and it looks better with the material you theming of course.

Excellent battery life on my 4A. No complaints whatsoever. I do not use the always on display though if that makes any difference. If anything I think my battery has gotten a little better with beta five if that’s possible but definitely not any worse it’s fantastic!

Hey, yeah I agree with you. However, always on display eats up a lot of battery if you keep your phone facing up. That's why I learned that if you keep the lock screen always on notifications on, flip your phone face down which will make the sensor turn off you're always on lock screen. This saves a crap ton of battery power, and you can always just glance at your notifications quickly without lighting up the lock screen or unlocking your phone etc etc. It's a good trick I learned a couple of months ago. But yeah, so far, battery life on my Pixel 5 has been fine. I feel bad for all the people that are saying that they're idle time and their battery life overall sucks completely though!

I don’t even pick the phone up I just double tap and see what I’ve got. :). Options!;)

I've tried that, but in the past, my signal or double tap to wake feature stopped working which really drove me nuts. So you don't need me keep the always on lock screen turned on then huh? Yeah, definitely like the options. That's for sure. I'm just done so used to having the always on lock screen and options turned on all the time. Might have to try the tap feature again. Lol.

I will definitely try this trick. But before beta 5 I was getting almost double the time. And my standby use is dropping like a stone when it used to be almost a flat line on the graph. Yeah I have seen the subreddit complaints. I will do a clean install when stable drops to give my phone the best chance of working optimally.

Yeah , previously on my pixel 2 that feature was kind of hit and miss. On my 4A it is 99% accurate and works flawlessly. Probably just me but I've just never really liked the always-on display that much. If it should fail there is always raise to wake which is a good backup. If you're sitting near your phone like at work or something and you get a message come through and your phone is flipped over you can't see it as it comes through without picking it up. In that situation if I miss seeing it I just double tap obviously and there it is.

You should give it another try. When our features aren't working perfectly sometimes a reboot is all we need. Our phones work so smoothly all the time that we don't really worry about rebooting anymore. Unlike the old days. But reboot every once in awhile is it good boost to the system.

I read this morning that the android 12 public release is due out October 4th. I’m wondering if we will get one more beta either this Wednesday or next.. I’m not finding any bugs to complain about but I don’t use my pixel completely utilizing every feature as a lot of others do. Android auto had some issues and the pixel buds I heard but not something I use anyway. What bugs are you still dealing with? I wish we had more color options for material you and also my blue color has gone AWOL in the options. So maybe that’s a bug.

So far I haven't experienced anything in my use I would consider a bug. At first I thought that the feature "Daylong Routine" not working on my Pixel 4a was a bug but later I realized it was designed to work on Google Home devices. I consider that a disappointment. Maybe in the future.

yeah you’re absolutely right about that. I just So used to flipping my phone off which is a check for notifications. If I think I’ve missed a notification while I’ve been away from my phone for a minute so, how are use my newest set my phone over there on my notifications, I could try to get used to the typing feature again though. And when you think you’re going to miss a notification, I have to do is tap the phone. I guess I have to retry that again. I’m just so used to flipping my phone over to check notifications for a minute here and there.

I mean I’ll be honest, as it sits right now, beta five and the top is pretty damn good except for two annoyances that I’ve told everyone about. I reported them to google so many freaking times already. Other than that though, not too too shabby.

Well, I just filled out the survey. Mostly good, but i doubt Google will actually be fixing these issues at this point...

Is there going to be a beta 6? I went back to 11 as I found it too buggy and it felt like another beta or 2 away from being ready, lots of little things but the notification dots were the most annoying.

I've heard rumours there would be one more beta before the public release, but it feels like they're running out of time ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This will be the last OS update I'll get on my phone, I hope if it's still rough around the edges that they don't leave it that way. I always worry that the last update for a phone will get the least polishing.
