I've heard rumours there would be one more beta before the public release, but it feels like they're running out of time ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This will be the last OS update I'll get on my phone, I hope if it's still rough around the edges that they don't leave it that way. I always worry that the last update for a phone will get the least polishing.

Honestly if I'm not a very good question... Android 12 beta program hasn't been to bug you especially for me. And trust me I would know. Enjoy 10, and 11 faders would bug his hell for me and Android Auto was completely broken. Trust me, Android 12 beta has not been too too buggy at least not for me.

Is there going to be a beta 6? I went back to 11 as I found it too buggy and it felt like another beta or 2 away from being ready, lots of little things but the notification dots were the most annoying.
Personally I feel Beta 5 is as polished and well functioning as to be confidently installed on the primary phone. I don't even feel there's a need for a 5.1 or 6. I'm sure there are some small tweaks that still need to be applied but overall it's an excellent example of the finished product.

I reported the notification dot issue to Google as a bug and they closed my bug report as "non-reproducable" or something similar to that wording. I think that issue is related to Pixel Launcher and the way it works with beta 12. I eventually cleared all data for Pixel Launcher and rebooted. I had to setup my home screens all over again, but notification dots did start working again (most of the time).

I've never had that issue. Maybe because it isn't/wasn't a wide spread issue is why it wasn't reproducable.

Worryingly then it will likely be there for the full release. Maybe just need to wait for an update to Pixel launcher?

I am happy back on 11 though, was not fan of 12.

Perhaps you should just do a clean install when the time comes.

Never noticed the dots issue on a 4a. I don’t think it is widespread.
I read the other day on one of the android tech sites that this is the last beta prior to final release on October 4th.
That’s not to say they can’t release something to fix a particular issue. That said this is running very smooth for me. Sorry some are having certain issues. Seems like that’s always the way of it tho with every beta cycle.

Google better fix the new At A Glance broken widget before the final release. I certainly hope they don't release Android 12 to the public with blank widget Settings.

I agree they need to fix this. Interestingly I noticed on Nova I have the downloaded google weather frog app as an icon onscreen and it is also broken and gives a error when I try to open it. I’ve downloaded foggy on several launchers because I really like that weather app and none of them work since the at a glance widget broke.

Yep that's going to be a big deal with lots of people.... that's one of my most used Android features

Yeah, definitely , for sure. Right now what I'm doing is I have the Google weather I have shortcut just on my home screen which takes up more space.

One thing I've noticed on my P5 throughout all the betas is that my FB messenger never bubbles. I have everything set for it but it never works. However, on my 3XL also running beta it's been working the whole time.

That's really weird also because on the betas, with different phones especially pixels, you have different quirks and annoyances honestly.

That’s weird as my google weather shortcut doesn’t work on various launchers I rotate thru. Gets an error when I open it to a blank screen.

Yeah, that's really weird. I just put the Google weather app shortcut on my home screen for now. Like I said, take some more home screen space, but I don't have a choice. It's vital information for our daily lives! Obviously we're all hoping Google releases beta 5.1 to fix this issue and a few other bugs and work sooner than later.

Haha, for sure. It's also my favorite weather app I don't leave home without it. Until now, yikes! I'm uninformed as I go about my day

Can someone screenshot what this widget looks like? I can't seem to find it in my list.

The widget is in the ataglance app which is broken. When it was working you could download just the weather as a shortcut and put it on your home page as an icon. They need to fix it and then we can do that again. However as I mentioned I had it on my home screen download it as a shortcut and it stopped working when at a glance broke.

Here's a screenshot of what it looks like.

Eric, you have a pixel 5 right? Mine is a 4a and I’m wondering why the difference in whether this app works or not per one device over another.
