My P8Pro upgraded to 1 yesterday. Battery life already noticeably worse. And 15 really brings me personally not much I'm interested in. Meh.

My P8P's battery life also seems a bit shorter (worse in the beginning, but nothing too serious now or I'd really be whining 😉) after the 15 update, but no scientific testing to back up my anecdotal thoughts and I am still assessing the situation. Hopefully, any battery issues will be resolved in the next monthly update.

There was also next to nothing that 15 brought to the table for my use case, but I can see how some of the new features might be considered useful by some users.

Let's hope that there will be something new, exciting and useful for both you and I in QPR2. Personally, I'm hoping to see the 80% charge cap.

How many charge cycles have you gone through since the update? Battery life often seems worse for the first day or so after an update because updates use a fair amount of energy. I would give it several more days and see if it still seems worse after that.

I haven't noticed any issues on my 7 Pro on 15. It's also worth rebooting if you haven't already.

How long does it last ?

Sometimes between major Android updates like 14 to 15 a factory reset could help , also in settings menu under battery run the diagnostics

While there are 3rd-party options, there isn't a "diagnostics" setting available in battery settings on the P8P. I seem to recall that there may have been one at one time after/under the battery widget setting and have no idea when or why it may have been removed (if my recollection is even correct).

I have been using the Ampere app to give me a little better battery information than what is available in settings.

Interestingly enough, I spent over 30 minutes, yesterday, using Google's online chat support to try to determine whether I should have a battery diagnostics setting on my P8P or not. I chatted with two different Google Support Specialists (one of whom I asked and confirmed was human and not a bot - I had to check because both "specialists" talked in circles, contradricted themselves numerous times, didn't remember info I had already given them and often gave off the wall Gemini-like responses). I had to remind them more than once that I had sent them a screenshot (sent it twice, actually) from my phone that showed that there wasn't a battery diagnostics setting on my phone.

Anyway, they both told me at various points in the conversation that the battery diagnostics setting is not available on the Pixel 8 Pro and then, at other times, gave me instructions to go to Settings>Battery>Battery diagnostics. I now wish that I had screenshot the whole conversation, but unfortunately, I trusted that Google support through the settings app would actually be helpful and eventually answer my, what I thought to be, easy questions, including; 1. Should there or shouldn't there be a battery diagnostics setting on my P8P? (I mentioned that others claimed to have it on their P8P), 2. If a battery diagnostics setting is supposed to be on my P8P, is there a logical reason why it is not and a fix?, 3. Is the battery diagnostic setting only on Pixels in certain regions (like the U.S., for example)? I couldn't get any answers, just going back and forth between, "its not available for your device" and "it's there and here is how to get to it." I finally ended the coversation in utter frustration. Interestingly, Google's online help website says that all Pixels, 6-9 should have it.

Below is the one screenshot I did take where I am told that the battery diagnostic setting is not available for the P8P (there were more). Needless to say, I am not very impressed with Google support and still have absolutely no idea, whatsoever, whether the setting should be on my device or not.

Because I could not get answers from Google support, I would really appreciate hearing from other Pixel 8 Pro users in both Canada and the U.S. as to whether the battery diagnostic setting (Settings>Battery>Battery diagnostics) is on your device or not (one AC Forum user above has said that it is on their P8P). TIA
