android 2.1 leak?

As much as I would love to test out 2.1, I just can't bring myself to doing it. After having the Blackberry Storm for a year and depending on having the latest leak just to keep the thing running decent, I'm just to happy having a good stable phone with no reboots and battery pulls.

Yep, I hear ya. The Storm leaks burned me out.

As stoked as I am about 2.1, I'm gonna pass. I'll just wait for the official update to come out. Swype is giving me enough to play with for now.

Why wouldn't you try it the rom is pretty stable I've been running it over a week and my phone has only crashed on me say once every 2 days maybe. It has its quirks but I like it more than the official Tom. Its faster app drawer looks better gallery is better.
I think you answered your own question. This reminds me of that one 5.0 leak that worked great but made your camera useless.

Having the latest software leak is one thing. Having the phone work when you need it is another. I think I will wait on this one.

I have to say I gave the 2.1 the ol' 1 2 and REALLY liked the new features. It's enough not to even bother with home replacements. Especially with the five screens, new app drawer, live wallpapers, and the new alarm clock app. Not to mention with MetaMorph up and running well on the Droid I think that's all you will need. But for now I went back to 2.0.1. I need the functionality more than the flash, but it was fun for two days lol.

Can't wait for this to be released!!! January is just around the corner. Maybe at 12:01AM on Jan 1 we'll all get a message on our droids, "Happy New Year! Please upgrade your OS to 2.1 now"

That would be nice but I doubt it.

I'm with you on not needing any home replacement once on 2.1 it's sweet and five screens is perfect for me. I'm not sure why my phone is running 2.1 so good. I have to say my phone is more stable now with 2.1 then it was using home replacements with 2.0.1. I would have many force closes using GDE and DxTop and phone freezes and other minor issues. Since installing 2.1 I think only once or twice did my phone need a restart and has never failed me when needed. I do however need to us a task killer a few time more whidh will usually fix any issue in seconds.

It would figure that after I say that I won't be trying this out that I end up unable to resist checking this out. The good news is that so far nothing has been buggy. Swype has been working great too. the slick new look is cool enough to where you really owe it to yourself to try it out.

As much as I really want to update to 2.1, I'm going to resist. I promised myself I'd wait for the OTA push. It's getting pretty hard though.
Beautiful Widgets had better update soon though. I need something new on my phone!

Hey guys 2.1 does work great as long as you don't run the live wallpapers. Just follow the thread posted earlier and you will have no problem. It is just as stable as 2.0.1 and adds some very cool features.

A agree with this lol. I know. I'm bipolar as hell! I reinstalled 2.1 and have been running it without the live wallpapers and it has done very well (thus far) I'll give it a full week and see what transpires.

Former BB owner too, and i like not having to worry about the next update because my phone runs awesome the way it is but its nice to read about it.
