Android 4.1.2 OTA Update Now Rolling Out to Nexus 7 - Adds Landscape Mode

I got my update Thursday sometime around 12pm-1pm central. C70. I hadn't used it much that day. Didn't reboot or anything since the announcement. was just there when I woke the screen up.

Yeah I cleared Google framework and it hosed mine N7 up pretty good does anybody know how to fix it I lost my Google Play store and the check for update button is no longer available

Ok I cleared framework again. Rebooted and it was ready for the OTA. Im all set.

Saw an improvement in wifi signal. Went from 58 to 70% in same location. :) Not scientific but a good indication.

Would like better wifi sensitivity/coverage. Anybody have suggestions?

Would be nice if I could get the update soon. I thought Nexus devices have fast updates.

They do. The software was only released a few days ago and people are starting to get it already.

A staggered/slow rollout is a very rational way to get the software onto devices - if it starts blowing them up people will start screaming early and it minimizes the number of devices affected. If you're in a hurry, you can download it and install it using a USB cable.

So I finally got the OTA prompt, and chose accept to reboot and start the upgrade process.

It rebooted, and I got the "blue swirly Android" image for about 5 seconds, then it went to the "Droid on his back" with the red exclamation triangle image, where it sat for 30 seconds or so before rebooting back to 4.1.1

Is this because I'm rooted & unlocked ? (I rooted via Nexus Root Toolkit, and chose to retain the stock recovery console), I thought it was supposed to retain OTA capability that way ?

What do I need to do now ? (if it's unroot & relock again, I may just pass on the update, as I finally got it set back up the way I wanted again).

I just received the update having actually done a manual check about an hour earlier. Interestingly it didn't ask me whether I wanted to download the update, it just stated that the update was downloaded and asked whether I wanted to install it now or later. It would appear that Google (probably rightly) assumes that everybody wise enough to buy a N7 will take the OTA updates.

my process

About tablet->System updates->check now
About tablet->System updates->check now
About tablet->System updates->check now
...
result nothing.

airplane mode on
apps->all->Google Services Framework->clear all app data
airplane mode off
About tablet->System updates->check now

3x with no update.

apps->all->Google Services Framework->clear all app data
About tablet->System updates->check now

update found.

I don't think airplane mode helped at all. It is just luck after clearing the Google Services Framework data.

NY CITY burbs and nada yet those blokes in the UK are getting it? WHAT THE FRONT DOOR.

I'm in the UK too, but I was led to believe that these things are never distributed by region - not sure what the criteria actually is though. Perhaps they hold it back from devices that have been manually checking out of pure devilment. ;)

I cleared the framework data and restarted. The update happened right after booting up.
