Android 4.1.2 OTA Update Now Rolling Out to Nexus 7 - Adds Landscape Mode

See where it says
Appling system patch...
(system/build.prop)
You hacked the screen rotate hack to the file.
If you were smart you renamed the original file like (build property.bak) then all you do is rename the hacks file and original back.

Boot back to recovery and flash.

If you did not rename then re hack the file and don't leave a blank line at the end. That should do the trick.

Note to all. Any hacks must be undone prior to flash attempts or you get a failed flash.

Always back up before you hack.

Still no update, is this update real?

Apparently not, at the moment

Did someone at Google forget to hit the "apply" or "send" button, for this update????
Yes, real. If you can sideload it, you're golden. I have Linux at work so the SDK and ADB worked like magic. At home, on WinXP ... like Dr. Zachary Smith, "Oh, the pain ... the pain!" Have to take my daughter's tablet to work, or bring the work laptop home.

Just be patient, people. Sometimes being the first on your block isn't so great. In our case, we had 1-2 bugs interfering with work that we were anxious to test out (I'm 1 for 2 so far).[1]

[1] Testing out EAS mail in the stock client, worked in ICS, broken in JB, now working again.

Anyone else having issues with Chrome after updating?

Me as well. If you're on JR003S, it won't work. This update is for JR003D devices. 3S is a newer build and it looks like we'll have to wait for google to push the OTA update and then for someone to link to the new 4.1.2 update JZO54K.

How exactly does one go from JR003S to JR003D? My new Nexus shipped with JR003S.

Me too. No one on the forum has it ota, right?

From the looks of this, no one has actually gotten this update via OTA. Everyone here that has it seems to have downloaded it on their computers from the Google links and side loaded it or whatever, not OTA...

I was on the phone with Google Nexus 7 tech support yesterday for an unrelated issue and mentioned the update to him. He immediately said, "The only OS version we have at this time is 4.1.1. There has been no OTA release of anything higher." So Google's own tech support have not been briefed on this or it hasn't "officially been released to the public via OTA". The tech support rep was incredibly knowledgeable and fixed my very vexing and troublesome problem so I'm inclined to believe him...

I think Google is pushing the links for devs to get their hands on it but not pushing the OTA to any real customers... yet... or they are doing it incredibly slowly pissing off the customers that really want and need this update like myself to deal with the damn 16GB bug that my unit is plagued with! Grr! :banghead:

I refuse to side load! I bought this device over other devices PRIMARILY FOR TIMELY/FAST OTA'S DIRECTLY FROM GOOGLE! And not be bothered with side loading, hacking, custom ROMs, 3rd party cobbled together solutions to have the latest OS and bug fixes! This is exactly what I DONT want! Waiting days, week, months for a simple bug fix that has been plaguing and crippling my 16GB unit!

As you can tell, I'm frustrated and pissed. If this is how Google pushes out (nonexistent) OTA's I very well might be sending this POS complete with screen lift, washed out colors, wonky touch screen and slowdown issue (16GB) back and pick up a competitors product including an iPad Mini (if/when it comes out).

I only bought a Nexus to get fast and timely updates without the bullsh*t and this imaginary OTA is clearly bullish*t.
