Android 4.1.2 OTA Update Now Rolling Out to Nexus 7 - Adds Landscape Mode

I flashed the zip in cwm. Seems to run fine no flicker in one no flicker

I also flashed the zip in cwm. Worked great! I didn't lose root or custom recovery (cwm).

Grr! Still no update! WORST. OTA. ROLLOUT. EVERS! :p;)

Seriously though, still waiting. I've got stock everything. Nothing rooted or unlocked. Straight factory stock everything and I'm still waiting, Google. Get on it! :p

Lol....why are people so impatient about getting this minor update? The update is so insignificant that you would think it wouldn't be such a big deal! If you want a screen rotation app, there are plenty of them you can install that work flawlessly.

Because it comes with several bug fixes. It also allows you to use one finger to expand notifications now instead of two.

And Landscape, damnit! L A N D S C A P E!

I've been waiting since I purchased this thing to have something as simple as landscape without 3rd party hacks or workarounds. *cries*

I Can Has Updates Pls? *sad puppy eyes* :p

Can anyone with the update confirm if it fixes the boot loader/recovery issues? I only found out about them when I tried to manually flash this ota.

My stock recovery won't boot into anything, and for some reason my device won't show up in adb.

I've already converted over to Apex. But the home screen rotation is really unimportant to me. The big things I hope this fixes are the sudden loss in screen touch sensitivity the unit seems to be prone to (which a quick double-tap on the power button fixes, so it's very minor, but some games are intolerant of this), and the jittery brightness self-adjustment at lower brightness levels.

If it could also fix my screen lift, that's be really cool. But I suspect that's hardware (LOL!).

Having a problem using ADB with my Nexus 7...

I'm on Windows 8 Pro, so this may have to do with it. When I plug my tablet in, it usually gets recognized by ADB and lists the devices. I can ADB Reboot Recovery and get to the install screen, however, once I enter Recovery my computer loses site/connection with my tablet and lists it as no devices found; so when I try to sideload the file with adb sideload <filename> it says error: no devices found.

I know should wait a few days, however I want to be able to use ADB for other things as well. I've tried messing around with the drivers and downloaded/installed the Android SDK last night, and that seemed to just make problems worse.

Some help would be nice :)

Well I don't understand how they put out a tablet without landscape mode, but now that I have it, I'm happy. I just flashed from cwm and didn't lose root. Easy peezy lemon squeezy.

I downloaded a "nexus 7 toolkit" from XDA which actually allowed me to access my Nexus 7 through ADB. I sideloaded the update and it was successful. (sweeeet)

From my testing, it looks like you can now operate the bootloader while the device is plugged in via USB. You can scroll to and select Recovery, and it actually boots into recovery instead of sticking on the Google logo.

Its just funny that I had to update to fix an issue that was causing me to be unable to update.

Someone mentioned the old adb didnt work and the new adb file worked for the user . try that
also make sure usb debugging is enabled
go to device manager and make sure it shows adb for your device. if you have a missing device icon then the drivers are not properly installed.

Lol.. It's always done that, that is the bootloader bug.. If it worked correctly you wouldn't need to be plugged into the computer to boot to recovery from the bootloader :)

Any chance you could explain this a bit more or pass on a link to finger based gesture changes for this version?

Did someone at Google forget to hit the "apply" or "send" button, for this update????

Just curious, when they stagger the ota updates, how do they decide if your device is one that gets an update or not?

it seems they are just removed by moderator over Android users, we are all stick to our devices and pressing "check update" all time long and receiving one msg "no available update"
