I got a GS3 yesterday and in the tutorials on how to use the phone, I turned on the function to allow apps to vibrate. I'd thought that it would be cool but now it's just annoying. How can I turn it off in Android 4.3?

Welcome to the forums.
Most of the vibration settings should be in Sounds. Settings>Sound>Vibrate

look for haptic feedback options as well. Haptic feedback will make the phone vibrate every time you hit a key or type on your keyboard. It gets fairly annoying pretty quickly. If you're on 4.3 go to My Device > Sound. This is where most of the vibration settings can be found outside of your app specific ones.

I scoured through the entire settings app but I had no success and I agree, it gets annoying quickly.
I just got fed up with it so I backed up my phone then wiped it and restored it from the backup with the settings though.
