I don't know why, there is hardly any difference between 5.1 and 6.0. The screenlock font and some settings menus, that is about it LOL. I have not dug deep yet, but that is all I notice.

Yea it's mostly under the hood. They probably should have called it Android 5.2 or something. Still, the only excuse I can see from the carriers' perspective is that they want you to get a new phone. Or maybe avoid a small population of Moto X owners calling in and complaining that the update broke their phones or something.

This is why I joined to tell you guys. I was basically thinking I would never get the update due to mine being an XT1097. It installed without a glitch. So there is still hope for you guys getting it down there. It gives hope.

What is the battery bug, exactly? I got a 2014 PE on the recent Cyber Monday sale, which came with 5.1 out of the box, and the battery seems great so far.

Have custom timings been removed in 6.0 for the Moto Display option to keep the sensors disabled at night? Only shows 11pm-6am by default.

Add me to this list, Canada, Brazil, India, the UK, but what about the Pure Edition in the USA?

No soak test, nada. Very strange, IMHO.

You have to sign up for the soak test to have possibly received the update. It's still in the soak test so you're not going to receive an update yet.

Battery bug is the device randomly shuts off at various levels of battery. Usually between 8-20%. Some people on Reddit have had it happen at 25-30%. It's pretty widespread. Moto support forums has a huge thread regarding it.

There's quite a few changes with 6.0. Much more than lock screen font... We get every change that nexus devices get. It's a nice upgrade. Doze works fantastically.

Might be too much to ask for, given the limitations of the Moto X's camera, but would you say there are any improvements to image quality in 6.0?

None that I can see. Camera/images seem the same.

Just installed it! One thing that is weird is the small font date on the Moto unlock screen.

Seems pretty good overall though. Really easy to get to silence mode now.

Good luck finding another manufacturer with perfect update record. This is complicated and not only manufacturer either.

Sucks when phones don't update but there is little you can do as a consumer to ensure this never happens (other then nexus, and all those dont get updated either).

Since my upgrade, I find my battery life is about the same. Maybe slightly better when idle. Other than that the phone is basically the same. Works well, reliable and quick. The hidden new game in Android is very annoying though. It is super hard LOL

Buy the pure edition. I have the 2014 model. I love it. Couldn't ask for a better phone. It does everything and it's really cool. It's light. It's thin. It's fast. Right now I'm still a fan of Motorola
