Android acore message during setup- flashing 4.4 again somehow, or another OS?

Hi- I think I've pretty much bricked my RCA Voyager (yes, the WalMart one)- I tried to do a factory reset, and of course I lost all my data, but now that I'm trying to re-establish the basics of the unit, I get the "android acore has stopped working" message during setup, and I can't even set it up again. It would be enough to be able to get 4.4 going again on this unit, but I've also thought that a different OS might be fun.

Any ideas?
