Android auto converting SMS into mms

[AC Question]

I've tried everything, called samsung, and t-mobile. No answer. Happened on 2 S7's and now on S8. Certain contacts phone automatically converts messages into mms. And changes the contact number to their phone number @ their carrier. Example. 555-5555@att.com
Then they don't receive the messages
