Very frustrating I can't connect Android auto with my 2016 Hyundai sonata with the note 8. It was so nice being able to connect to see map on the big screen in my car. As well as easy access to have texts read out loud to respond, music controls etc. Hole it's fixed soon.

Android Auto works perfectly on my GMC with my Note8.

AA works very well on my Honda Accord. I had my concerns when I thought about getting the Note 8 but I've had no problems at all.

Maybe its the USB cord you're using. I don't have a Note 8 but on my Note 5 that was the problem with my 2017 Hyundai Elantra. It's best if you use the official usb/USB-C cord that came with the phone.

Did you download the software update for the 2016 Sonata? I think you may have missed doing this.

Double check this. You may have to also change your USB setting to get it to work. On my 2016 Elantra I had to do this.

With our 2016 C-Max we had to do the software download for Android Auto and I see that applies to the Sonata as well when reading. It can be done at home or at the dealer.

My car unfortunately doesn't have AA but I still use Android Auto as a standalone with my phone and a vent mount. I have it set that it automatically starts up when the Bluetooth connects in the car and with the Note 8's big beautiful screen it works great

I also have a 2016 Hyundai Sonata, and my Note 8 also works fine with Android Auto, as it did with my prior Note 3. Hopefully some of the suggestions above will solve your problem, but there's no reason you shouldn't be able to get it going.

I had some issues with my Audi Q7. I switched to the cable that came with the N8 and that solved the issue.
The only issue that I have is that I get a high bluetooth volume warning when I connect AA. When I try to drag the volume bar to a lower volume it goes right back to max. However, I don't notice any volume issues in the car. AA is a little loud, but not a problem

Over the last year, I had to work closely with Audi and Google to get AA to work on A3's. It just wouldn't work.

Google resolved that issue over the Summer, and that great reliability and usefulness continue with the N8.

Rock solid performance with AA and N8!
