Android central vs Pre central

Never been over on the PreCentral forums, so I can't formulate an honest opinion about it. But I seriously doubt anyone who says A/C isn't friendly or isn't helpful. Call me bias, I don't care, but since day one this forum has had one of the most respectful group of staff and members I think I have ever seen in one community. It's the reason I stuck around, and it's the reason I'm proud to be a part of the guys who help run the forums.

. Precentral forums is very nice, even though they're a few bad apples that bent on destroying its name. Apart from that... you would love it there.

I've been apart of both forums and still go over to the precentral site from time to time to do research since I gave my pre to a friend that wanted it. Precentral like Android Central, has both good and bad aspects, but to be quite honest A/C has less bad and alot more good when it comes to getting questions answered and opinions shared. On this site you'll find alot of people have shared experiences and the answers come fairly quickly, if your willing to wait. Now I'm not bashing precentral, they could learn a few things from A/C.

I'm one of the older members on PreCentral, aka TreoCentral, aka VisorCentral. I first registered in 2000. Since I switched from my Pre to the Evo, I don't go back to PreCental much unless it is to check on the status of the neverending wait for better hardware.

Like on most tech discussion boards - mosty good, helpful people plus a few obnoxious personalities.

I'm not a PreCentral convert but I did come over from CrackBerry. I think the community here is a lot nicer and we even joke around with each other here making the atmosphere more relaxed.

I would sometimes feel like I was on the chopping block if I said I didn't agree with someone there. I still visit from time to time but don't post.

I have two questions:

1. This thread sat dormant for 6 months, with the last post being 6/17. Why did it have to wake up? Can we put it back to sleep?

2. Why is this thread in the EVO 4G section?

my guesses -

1. as Palm sinks deeper and deeper into failure and obscurity - you have more and more refugees with a common bad experience looking for answers and looking for a home.

2. given that the Pre was initially released on Sprint over a year and a half ago - you have a lot of refugees coming over to the real Sprint Flasgship phone - the EVO.
