DroidX for dear ol mom!
I think the DroidX looks like an incredible phone, and I would love to win it and here's it why:
My mother and I share a family plan. Right now I have a Droid, and I gave her my old LG Dare. Well, she's old of course and can't really figure out how to work the phone, and the touch screen is not that great. She calls me all the time crying about the phone and how she can't make it do anything she wants. If I could give her the DroidX (her birthday is coming up too btw) then she wouldn't have to be trying to navigate her way through the tiny, low resolution screen of the Dare. They also go on a lot of road trips because my younger brother plays minor league baseball so he's all over the place. In addition to showing her the magic of Google Maps, I could also load her up with some Yelp, Where, Carr Matey (for when she parks at stadiums), and Coupons/Groupons apps. I will also probably load her up with the Epicurious app so I don't have to eat the same food all the time when I come to visit.
If I win the DroidX, I also promise to keep a running blog on how she takes to it. She's from the babyboomer generation, and we all know how notorious they are with not understanding new tech. This would be a good in vivo test of DroidX's user-friendliness, and an interesting test case for all of out there wondering how expansive Android's reach can be.
Thanks and good luck to all the other participants.
