I think that the Droid X is the hottest phone of the year because it is the best direct competitor to the iPhone 4. It shows what Android is capable of - as much as if not more than the iPhone 4 - and is on the largest US cellular network so it has the ability to reach almost twice as many people as the Evo (sorry, Sprint).

Other things that rock about it: the gorilla glass screen that it'll take a gorilla to break (instead of the iPhone's flimsy dual-layer glass screen), and the PowerVR graphics chip will hopefully boost its graphics abilities past that of the Evo.

Oh, and the fact that you can actually touch it during a call

Oh man, I love free stuff! Especially gadget-y free stuff that have 1 GHz OMAP Processors and 4.3" screens! Then you pair that gadget-y greatness with an iron-clad network and the candy just gets sweeter.

Plus, this thing may have enough under the hood to remain relevant a lot longer than many Android devices.

The screen and camera are definitely appealing but I am excited about the OMAP processor and the battery life. I love my Droid Incredible but the battery life is terrible. The reviews of the Droid X lead me to believe the battery life is impressive and that the processor seems to manage things better than the snapdragon.

It is the hottest phone of the year

Its big, fast, beautiful, and its on the nations most reliable network. This smartphone will be my #1 reason for giving up my droid. HDMI output, 1ghz processor, hotspot, 4.3"screen. So much to be Xcited for, and my #2 reason to love this device, I can rub it in my iphone loving friends faces and scream DROID X DOES!! How can this not be the hottest new device out if Im downloading everything I can to make my droid look and feel exactly like the droid x?

Guess I want it too, since everyone else does. ;-) Actually it would be nice, I could replace my daughter's LG dare that she is doing her best to destroy.... Besides all the technical specs, if it wasnt hot, this thread wouldnt exist. By the way i own a milestone which is already mind blowing. So Droid X = Milstone^2.

Because I have a Droid, which is awesome, and which I'll hand over to my wife to replace the third Storm she's had to get 'cause the other two flamed out (all within her two-year contract/upgrade time limit). She'll be as stoked as I am.

The Droid X is essentially everything I've wanted in an Android phone since the first one I had (the T-Mobile G1). I've been an avid user of my android phone for mor than merely placing phone calls, and the huge 4.3 inch screen is exactly what i've been looking for to surf the web (and watch tv with my slingbox).

This device brings a new world to Verizon Wireless. It brings a new game to better defeat the competition. The Droid X brings to Verizon choices to all consumers. VZW has entry level Android phones and mid range Android phone and now also choices in high-end Android devices. If I were to win this device I would use it to spread the word on how amazing Android is seeing as how I sell cellphones.

First, the X has awesome specs, which anyone would want. Specific to me, however, is the fact that I want(need) a new phone I got into Android only after buying a MT3G (which is great, but not the X). Thus, I want it because it does everything better than what I have!!
