It's a hot smartphone due to great features/specs. Large screen, great audio quality and Motorola does make solid antennae designs - they've been in the mobile space longer than Apple. 8MP camera looks sweet as does the 720HD video.

The one phone to rule them all

The droid-x is going to rock all with its giant screen hdmi out port tons of storage and a amazing camera, who could ask for more.

Looking forward to Fridays podcast...my Friday anyway

I think the Droid X's "killer features" are plentiful. Some are noticeable, some not so much.

-Screen: 4.3", which means everything is easier to see, and typing will be a breeze.
-Processor: 1ghz, which of course not that unique nowadays, but it'll be speedy. What makes the DX unique is that it has an OMAP processor, which means we'll see better 3D and battery life. Speaking of...
-Battery life: Hearsay at the moment, but everything I've heard is that the battery life on this thing is a beast.
-Camera: Every shot I've seen from this thing has been fantastic. I think it's on par with consumer iPhone 4 shots I've seen (meaning not the gussied up, ideal conditions, taken by a professional photographer official shots from Apple), and it has a higher resolution than said iPhone camera.
-Assorted bells and whistles: Things like the numerous bundled apps, included 16GB micro SD card, and the 3 (THREE!!!!) mics aren't just a cherry on top, it's an entire orchard of 'em.

And finally

-Android! Eclair imo was already the best mobile OS on the market. The imminent Froyo update, which will make the best mobile OS on the market into an untouchable one, will make the Droid X the creme de la creme of cell phones. Even if one of those 98% of iPhone users that use their smartphone to check Facebook and email once a week never know.

The Droid X is the hottest phone of the year because it has a fantastic looking and very large screen, It has Verizon's network behind it which always has a solid connection, it has the most open and versatile phone OS that's available, it has a plethora of fantastic apps and a whole slew of connection options!

Because God and Satan finally put aside their differences and collaborated to make a child of pure magnificence called the Droid X & I really want it.

This phone is the hottest phone of the year because it is not pretty or cute, it is big, fast, bold and kicks butt!

Yeeehaw!

This phones got more giddy up with a TI OMAP 1ghz processor than anything out there, a beautiful TFT LCD 4.3" to stare at, more hot spot connections than you can shake a stick at (up to 5 sticks), a dedicated graphics processor to launch it into a new realm of android gaming, an 8mp camera and 720p video...saaaaayy whaaaaaaat?! All on Big Reds network?! It's time to 'Rule the Air'! :)

What's Not to Love?

I don't know where to begin! I purchased a Droid Eris in November of last year. It was my first smart phone and my first experience with the Android OS. As a fan of Apple computers, I initially felt as if I were somehow cheating on my other technology love! :p

But as I've read all the blogs and forums (I seem to follow them all!), I've truly grown to love Android. The Eris has served me (sort of) well, but isn't anywhere near enough phone for my needs. I'm looking forward to the Droid X for:

4.3 inch display (combined with the Kindle app!)
1 GHz processor
Excellent camera
720p video recording
Better battery life (hopefully!)

I can't wait to get one of these. I participated in the Washington D.C. @DroidLanding scavenger hunt, but unfortunately came up a little short. But, I got to play with the phone at the event. And WOW--I can't stop thinking about the phone and can't wait to put it to good use!

The best of the best

The Droid X will be the phone of the year because it combines the best of what Android has to offer: the best network (US), best speed, screen, features, UI, etc. This phone is not just the next version in a line of Android phones, its a whole new line of high end phones designed to meet every need you could have.

Gotta Have It

The Droid X is one amazing phone that seems to be completely devoid of issues that face other HTC branded phones and even the iPhone. The Droid X will be the phone to which all other Android phones are judged, thus setting a precedence to handset manufacturers that customers demand excellent call quality, good reception, an amazing touchscreen made with Gorilla Glass, and great video and picture recording capabilities that rival some point and shoot cameras. This phone was obviously well thought out and Motorola has put their best technology into this phone to date. Above all, the battery life is said to be amazing when compared to some HTC phones and will last nearly all day. This is the one to beat!.

I want this phone because my wife wants to get the BB Tour when she upgrades her contract in August and I want to show her what a real Genius Phone (if BB and iPhones are smart, then the X can only be described as genius right!?) can do! I want her to salivate over its 4.3" IMAX worthy screen and its 1 Ghz Turbo boosted OMAP speed (come on FROYO!) and most of all I want her to lose sleep at night with the sound of "DROOOOIIIDDD!" echoing in her brain!

I want a phone that is Xtremely fast for my mobile needs, a phone that has an Xtraordinary screen to browse the web on, watch videos and play games on, a phone that has a great camera to shoot Xciting looking pictures and videos and last but not least I want a phone that will finally let me Xperience the Android OS in its best form yet and no other phone can be more of an Xcellent choice than the Droid X!

The DX is the hottest phone right now because I'll be able to read all of the amazingly written articles from Android Central whenever I want!
