I have no original insights into why it will be the hottest phone... but this could be the motivation I need to jump over to Verizon and Moto.

Lowly Motorola Droid
The Droid X looks sick! Although I like my Motorola Droid, I wish it had a bit more power and it is kind of thick due to the keyboard.
The Droid X is the hottest phone because it's the most powerful (tied with the incredible?) phone Verizon has to offer. Also, I'm hoping it has a much better camera than its older brother.

Why is it the best phone to come out this year ? Two Words: AndroidOS and Verizon. Plus I'm a big guy and kinda need a bigger screen and i'm on Verizon so this wins. Want another reason why i want it ? I own a Blackberry Storm1. Not Storm2 but the first POS phone. I've suffered for too long with this crap. My phone has been passed up and phased out and pretty much known to the phone world as an epic fail !! please have mercy on this Storm user and bless me with the Droid X !!!
I love the Droid X simply because it is Motorola's re-entry as a force in the smartphone market. I used to use the Q, and I loved that little phone. The Droid X impresses me mainly because of the processor, and the fact that it's so pocketable. I think it could give the EVO 4G a run for it's money.

Because I can hold anyway I want.
Because I don’t have to throw it against the wall each time I get a dropped called thanks to the “awesome” experience with the most hated and worst reputed AT&T network and their so called “customer service”

I didn't even think I wanted this phone to begin with,
Now I'm anxiously waiting for @DroidLanding to give away #13.
With android phones constantly being one upped every other month,
This phone would keep me satisfied even when the next hot phone comes out.

IMO, the Droid X truly represents the cream of the crop for Android. As a stout Verizon Palm Pre Plus user, it could be the one Android device that could woo me over. I've always loved Moto hardware and would much rather have it over anything HTC.

This thing packs more power than my current Moto Droid, has a beautiful screen, and even makes me drool a little.
I love my current phone, but this thing packs quite the punch. I haven't had my hands on one yet, but I bet that big screen is good for playing my Nintendo emulators on . . .
PS, it also has the distinct advantage of NOT having partially eaten fruit stamped all over it.

The phone is simply the epitome of smart phones. Every possible feature you can ever want and more is in the phone. The best part is that since it is an android phone is that it is certain to possess some features not even unlocked yet! With the amazing developer community we are sure to find some amazing feature to the phone that makes it a must.
But above all, the best thing about the phone is that you can make a call however you hold it!
