For a friend....

I am actually trying to win this for my friend Shannon who is with Verizon. She has only three fingers total and currently uses a blackberry storm. I was the one who got her using a touchscreen phone and it has greatly improved accessibility to the mobile universe for her. I would love to see her using an android phone like the EVO I have but she cannot afford one. Now with a Droid X, I am hoping to add even more fun and functionality.

It's so hot because it'll make my hand look small because of that huge screen like that guy in the Burger King commercial with the double cheeseburger. But then the huge screen will certainly bring in the ladies, so it's FTW! Thanks!

The Droid X is basically top tier in every aspect of a multimedia smart phone. It's rocking an awesome list of specs: 4.3 inch screen, a sweet TI 1GHz Processor along side a dedicated PowerVR GPU, and 512 of RAM.

The feature set is massive and fantastic. A great camera for capturing those moments of randomness in life or recording it in 720p for immortalizing those moments on video. Best browser in the business in my opinion, great Gmail integration for contacts and push notification, and top it off with the always awesome Google Navigation.

And just in terms of personal taste, I'm not a huge fan of the visual style of the Sense UI. So the Droid X's light skinning appeals to me more than the Incredible.

I've been getting buy with the clunker known as the Storm 1. Strong messaging, but this thing is not the multimedia/convergence phone it was hyped up to be. So right now I'm begging for a upgrade but I'm not due till next July. Getting a Droid X would be a miracle cure to my smart phone frustrations.

Well due to a financial crunch I was not able to cancel my ATT iPhone contract and pick up the Evo 4g like I wanted to, so I'm still stuck with crappy service and a communist phone. I love the 4.3 inch screen, Verizon as the carrier, and last but not least it will be my first Android experience which I've been waiting for, for such a long, long time.

The reason I want the free device is because the Droid X will be the envy of all smart phones. All other phones will be dubbed as the "Droid X killer" but will never pan out...

the phone is AMAZING!

Where to begin... why don?t I start by saying... look at the beautiful large screen! Great for watching all sorts of multi media.. Speaking of media how about that sweet 8 mp camera that shoots 720p video... 4.3 screen not big enough for your favorite movies? Then use the handy HDMI hook up to easily connect you phone to and HD TV or monitor. One thing that I am really looking forward to is the swype software! Not only does it allow for faster text input but it?s fun!. The three microphones on the phone really help unleash many great uses for the phone.

Removable mico sd card makes it easy to upgrade the phones memory
One thing i know many of us look down on is our powerful phone sucking up all tat battery life.... NOT ANY MORE! the battery life on this phone will be awesome.

ummm... it?s an android device and not apple!

The phone is on a great network that still offers unlimited data (:p iphone users)

And this phone is fast! Able to do it all at very high speeds... I LOVE THIS PHONE AND COULD TALK ALL DAY! lol but i think you get the point.

I love the droid x & need one!!!!!

I think the Droid X is the iphone killer, iphone had its time to shine and when I tell people about the X, they r like well iphone is better but when i start telling them the features they r like dang, maybe its better. Then they get in the arguement about the iphone front camera is why its awesome but i tell them well so far you can only talk to ppl with iphones with that camera. They is a shocker to them, and the Droid X is runing Android which is the best system I have seen, its not closed off like Apples. I love the camera with dual led and like the fact it has HDMI out... wooot

This phone is a beast and will last. Its screen looks amazing and great for watching movies or those who do not have the best vision. It's blazing fast and will only get faster once froyo is pushed to it. This phone is going to last me for a long time. Usually i would upgrade very often but with this there is no upgrade, it's a different phone and will make its mark for a good while! And we cannot forget the iphone which is no longer as great as it was. The X will be the first true iphone killer and competitor for verizon. Its specs are amazing for a phone: 4.3" touchscreen, 1GHz processor, 8MP camera, 720p HD video, DLNA support, and customizable Moto widgets. Lets not forget the biggest thing a phone should be able to do and it will do it great with its multiple antennas: make a call no matter how you hold it.

Droid X Giveway - More and Less

More power
More memory
Less bulk
Less complexity

I don't want to sign a contract, so I need to win one!

How will you choose the winner? A simple drawing or by the best comment? I have to smile re: the one about the girlfriend/DX in my pocket (old married guy)

Back in 1987 I had a shiny new 911 built for me in Stuttgart -- I really lusted after getting that new car. I have looked forward to getting the DX just as much -- another sign of age :-)

Droid X ROX

With its sweet feature set?4.3-inch screen, 1ghz chip, three mics and scaled down motoblur?the phone will be a huge success. Part of this of course is the perfect cosmic timing of the iphone 4s bad publicity (the death grip) and ATT's ongoing network issues. Of course, there will be no better mobile device to enjoy the REAL internet on than the X, simply because of it's sweet 4.3 inch screen. In fact, I wager that droid X owners that also own ipads will be reaching for their phones to go online simply because of one thing?flash, baby!

Detractors say there's no front-facing camera. But I assure you that only the dweebiest of early adopters will be using Qik. I wouldn't worry about a front-facing camera until maybe 2011 when big red rolls out its LTE.

Droid X = Bring it!

Why is the Droid X the hottest phone?hmmm

Android OS:
Fast system, full exchange, google apps (e-mail, calendar, latitude, voice, listen), great web surfing, lots of apps that do many different things (read books, watch movies, get weather alerts), tethering and hot spots, and a great bling factor. The Android OS is not specific to the Droid X, but its runs the best mobile OS.

Hardware:
The Droid X has the latest greatest hardware including a bix 4.3" screen, a 1 ghz OMAP processor (ie fast), 8mp camera for high quality photos, GPS, 3 microphones (one for extraneous noise cancelling), wifi, HDMI out (video out), a better battery than previous droids, and it comes with a 16gig microsd card.

A point to remember on the hardware is that is comes with a removable battery. The battery is a larger capacity battery than the previous Moto Droid, but unlike the iPhone, you can buy a spare battery and keep it with you if needed.

Network:
The Droid X will run on the Verizon network. Network coverage is different from town to town, but Verizon generally has the best coverage, so you can use your phone and not drop calls.

The Droid X is hot because it runs the best mobile OS using the latest hardware on the best network.

Need a Droid X

the droid X is by far the best phone coming out this year, with it's massive screen and loads of memory, who could ask for anything more?

4.3 plus HDMI = Happy!

This phone is the hottest phone Verizon will have to offer! 4.3 inch screen and HDMI out plus 1 GHz OMAP processor! Not to mention the UI is supposedly Vanilla and therefore Android updates should be rolled out sooner!:p

The Droid X is the hottest phone of the year because it gets good reception, you can hold it however you want, it has a huge screen, and best of all... it's an Android device with great specs.

Why Droid X

Each Droid that comes out just gets better and better. I hope to keep jumping to the latest and greatest which the Droid X will be the moment it hits stores. I can't wait!!
