Honestly, I thought the Moto Droid was Android perfection last year. The Nexus One offered competition, with the trackball, removed keyboard, and further openness, but the Droid's hardware was just so beautiful that I can't say there was ever another Droid phone for me.
Now, the Moto Droid X looks to take the Droid and take it to the next level--the processor is a thing of beauty--Snapdragon is great, but I thought the OMAP in the original Droid was much more powerful than its clock speed led people to believe.
If you can take the Moto Droid, upgrade it, remove the keyboard, and make it compete with the Evo in terms of screen space...and you have the definitive hottest phone of the year. (I'm betting it'll even do well against the 1.2Ghz Android devices from the near future)
