Android Device Manager arrives

I got it earlier today on my One. Until they release an app or something there's not much to do with it right now.

better than an app they need to make a website available for it. the idea is that you can locate your phone from any computer or phone connected to the internet.

Yes, did you not see how to check to see if you have it? I quoted it for you.

ya but thats not what i asked.

i asked how we use it to locate our phone.

but ive learnt now its useless in its current state. you cannot use it, regardless if you have it or not. thanks though.

I agree, at its current state it's useless, but it's nice to know that it's there and we can take advantage of the service as soon it is available.

Just checked and also have it. No restart necessary, just showed up on the phone. (Carrier: HateT&T)

Cheers!

Just got it on my Nexus 4 here in Canada. Is there a webpage that I can go to that will let me use this thing similar to how Cerebus works?

Why does it say activating it will cause ny phone to do a hard reset and delete all my data....does it mean if I activate it now or when I loose my phone?

On your phone, you have set "access to my location" to on?

Yes, but....its now working correctly, might have just been the location i was in. Its no where as good as Find iPhone, but it'll do in a pinch! One thing I noticed is that its supposed to ring for 5 minutes, when you hit the "ring" option, but it only rings one ring for about 2 seconds.....anyone else have that issue?

Actually, the one that my bitdefender has for my One, is really better than google's version.

It's asking you if you want to permit the application to 'Erase date', 'blah' and 'blah'. If you say 'yes', it means that it'll let you erase this whole device when needed. I don't think it means that it'll erase your phone when you're installing the app.

Ok it's not working for me. It knows my phone but it won't locate on my device or ring. I keep refreshing, I checked the box under my settings for Device Administrators. Idk what's going on.

Everything works here (HTC One, Denmark). Except that it only does 1 ring (2 secs) instead of the promised 5 mins. Knowing goolge though, Im sure it will improve. Im glad this feature is in Android so I dont need 3rd party S/W to find it. +1

When I go to the Device Manager website on the desktop, under my devices, my Note 2 isn't showing up but all of my old devices are. I've updated my devices and its still not showing up. Argh.
