Android Device Manager arrives

You have to have gps and Google location services enabled for it to locate the device.

AT&T HTC One MoDaCo.Switch Beta 8
Nexus 7 2013 Unlocked Root + TWRP
Chromecast

Both my devices (Nexus 4 & Nexus 7 FHD Running 4.3 sock) show up in ADM w/ wipe & ring options available but, when trying to locate it just says 'Location Unavailable'. All location settings are turned on with both my devices. Tried disabling and re-enabling all location options & restarting the devices multiple times. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks Everyone

Patience Grasshopper, it will come! Mine did the same thing at first, with not locating the phone; but the next day, bam, started working.

Mine worked after the reset, GPS does not have to be on. How do i register another device, I want to be able to locate my child's phone as well?

Just want to update that mine now works, I can locate my phone from the ADM web. So for those who don't, be patient it'll come. Also to answer the poster above, if you want to track other phone you need to know the username and password of the account used on that phone or I suppose you can add your account to that phone and sync it so it register under your account, haven't tried this to confirm though.

Got it on my One and new Nexus 7...Works on both, too. Uninstalled Lookout

I'm excited about where they'll go with this, but at this point in time I'm not impressed with the limited features, in comparison to Apple's Find iPhone App; but as I said, I'm excited about its potential!

I just restarted my phone and it showed up under "Security".

Ditto, S4.

But I don't care. That's why I have Lookout.

With 2 step verification turned on, it is going to be hard to run to a cyber cafe and use Google to wipe the phone. Yes, I know about the codes you can print out, but still.

Worthless. From what it appears you basically are giving Google play the permission to do Alot of things to your phone with no way to actually gain anything yourself.

It locates your phone and will allow you to ring it and wipe it clean.

By the way the problem with your statement is when it comes to Google, they already have permission to do whatever they want as they own the Android operating system.

Hence even if you have updates turn off they can still update any Google Apps and services in the background.

The only way to stop Google is to turn off all internet access.

So, it's a subject of enabling some services and Google play? What's the point having locating/wiping option if it can be disabled SOoo easily? GPS off and that's it?
Is it a joke?
