I went into my Fingerprints and Security, Phone Administrators, and "tried" to check Android Device Manager (to enable it) (going away for a week); Whenever I try I get the message "UNFORTUNATELY, THE PROCESS COM.ANDROID.SETTINGS HAS STOPPED". any idea how to fix this?

Thanks all

You could try this:

Settings, Application Manager, make sure All Apps is selected at the top, Device Manager, Storage, Clear Data, Delete.

That should clear Device Manager's database (which seems to be corrupted). Then back to Home Screen, then launch Device Manager again (you'll have to reauthorize it probably).

Android Device Manager is not listed in Apps. (all) The only place it is found on my phone is under Phone Administrator.

Then it's not installed correctly. Three choices. You could try reinstalling it in hopes that stuff syncs back up in the databases on your phone. Or Clear Data on Settings, which has the unfortunate side effect of, wait for it, erasing all your settings. So you'd need to re-set-up all the stuff on your phone. Or do a factory reset. The third actually isn't a bad idea if you have database corruption anyway (which is appears you do). Yeah it sucks redownloading and re-setting-up everything, but it'll be like a new phone! Just don't let it auto-restore after a factory reset or it'll put the same corrupt database right back in from Google's backup servers.
Good luck!

All fixed. It was actually Googles fault. Had to go into laptop and activate it for the phone. It's in the Google Account. I probably could have done it by phone, same way, but easier getting to it through computer. Thanks for the input though. Android Device Manager was never listed in my apps from the beginning. I have a LG G4 and not listed in there either.

It's listed in my Apps so I assumed it got unregistered in yours somehow. Glad you got it all squared away though.
