Android from a Windows Mobile perspective

I would love to see a Google Docs app. Like many people I just assumed it would work out of the box.

A native app has been long overdue.

For everyone who has not yet purchased an Android, the following cloud features are absent:
Google Docs (except Spreadsheet editing in webbrowser)
Google Tasks
Google Notebook (but they stopped supporting this entirely anyway)

Could not agree more. Odd that there is not one already. With the storage on the way hopefully a docs suite will soon follow.

Wow, assumed there'd be apps for all of the Google service. Though I can see with Notebook. Not enough to keep me from considering an Android phone, since I don't use Google Docs a *lot*, (or Google Tasks at all), it'd still be nice for those features to be included.

1. If you did leave Windows Mobile for Android, how come? What attracted you to Android?

I left the WinMo and Touch Pro mainly because it was boring. I only need a smart phone for work here and there. I wanted a toy, pure and simple. Android looked like more fun, and easier to customize.

2. Are the multiple versions of Android causing you any headaches? Or are you just waiting patiently for an upgrade?

I could use and upgrade, but to be honest I just want Goggles and G Navigation. I'm on the Eris which at the moment is stuck at Android 1.5 and cannot make use of either of these apps.

3. Which do you prefer? Stock Android, or something like HTC's sense on top of it?

I go back and forth based on what week it is. :) I like both, but I'm moody and frenetic.

4. Do you worry about having all of your information in the Google ecosytem?

No not really I have it backed up elsewhere, and frankly have nothing to hide.

5. If you could fix one thing about Android, what would it be?

3D gaming, and perhaps a full port of MS Office Mobile. Which is also the only good thing I have to say about WinMo.

You can tell it's the end of the week when we all start running out of things to discuss. :) An entry as well.
