Hmmm... Are there such laptops that actually run purely on Android os?

Yeah, they're called Tablets. :P

Sorry, had to take the chance hehe In all seriousness, no, no laptops that run only Android as the OS has only been designed for phones and tablets, so the closest thing to what you're asking about are, indeed, Android Tablets. There's actually a couple from Samsung and Asus that made waves a few months back when they announced they'd be releasing 'dual' tablets, that would run Windows 8.1 and Android (one from Asus runs Windows while on the dock, Android while on the go).

The only Google-made system for laptops is Chrome OS, which runs on Chromebooks, and it's basically a web-browser-based OS, but no Android apps for that.

I used to think chromebooks were just another name given to android laptops??

Have a look in the News section here at Android Central. There is an Android laptop coming out.

Yeah, that's just a tablet with an un-detachable keyboard. Even Alex says that the only thing that sets the Lenovo Android Laptop appart from a Tablet is a custom UI and a File Manager when in 'lap top mode'. But granted, it would be an Android Laptop.

Chromebooks, by the way, don't run Android :) They run Chrome OS.

So that means no matter what, Android laptops will always be a mix with tablets?

My DROID Bionic became a laptop with the Lapdock accessory.
