I use Pulse also and like it. I've used Textra before (paid) and it's ok, but a "heavy" app. Pulse is much lighter, for me anyway.
True, but as he said in his FAQ, sms by default is very insecure. If security is a main issue, probably need to change to different .essaying platform. Are you using the paid version of Pulse? It sounds great, but I'd like to know more about his encryption scheme. I don't want my messages floating around in the cloud without knowing how he's protecting them!
Very true. For the messages that really matter (with my immediate family), I use WhatsApp, and they use the Signal encryption protocol.True, but as he said in his FAQ, sms by default is very insecure. If security is a main issue, probably need to change to different .essaying platform.
I honestly don't know the technical parts of the encryption, but the app developer is a long time reputable developer.
Signal handles standard SMS on Android, but (obviously) not on iOS. Hopefully Google does the right thing and adds SMS/MMS/RCS to Allo!I would prefer something that will also handle my standard sms messages so I dont need multiple messaging apps.Hangouts was ok for a while but the sms side of it kinda sucks and its being phased out.

I'm totally with you, man! Fortunately, I don't get those very often. If you cant tell, I hate getting videos while Im at work and being badgered with "have you watched it yet?".
I dont mind them having to deal with a second app. They would only use it when they wanted to send me one of their "hilarious" videos or have RCS typing bubbles.

I swear to god I get 10 a day. Now you're probably thinking "tell your kids to knock it off". If it were my kids I'd definitely chew their butts but this is my wife's doing and Im not dumb enough to tell her to knock it off lol.I'm totally with you, man! Fortunately, I don't get those very often.

I know how crazy it sounds, but Facebook Messenger is the best platform on Android giving you iMessage features integrated with SMS function. Allo will be the answer if they integrate it with SMS. Just be sure to turn the chat heads feature offI swear to god I get 10 a day. Now you're probably thinking "tell your kids to knock it off". I totally get that. I think all you need is an account to use the app. That is one good thing they did about separating the messaging from Facebook apps, but i definitely get it if you want to steer clear of them.I don't do facebook anymore. Deleted it about 4 years ago and would never consider using it again.
Yeah facebook caused me lots and lots of issues. It was like being virtually stalked by exes and people being in my business that shouldn't have been. It's good that they seperated the app but definitely not for me.I totally get that. Yep, had that issue a few times with apps and a few things for my kids' schools. Fortunately my wife still has her account so she handles anything requiring facebook.I deleted mine a few months ago and have no desire to go back.
Sorry for this off-topic diversion: I met someone at a running event on Wednesday, and she invited me to her group training sessions... the way to sign up is on Facebook - SMH!
