Admittedly I haven't dabbled too much in Android Messenger; but I've been using Textra for years (even upgraded to the Pro version, which is rare for someone like me; who buys Google Play gift cards once a year :p). I love the customization options available in Textra - I swear I tweak and change them every other week!

So it is still 3 steps to delete a text in Textra...just...can't.....do it.

Android Messages and your boring, white, sparse interface...you had at me at swipe-to-archive.

My go-to has been android messenger/google messenger for a while. I recently switched to Samsung because it themes with the phone theme. It's not horrible. I feel like it handles group texts strangely sometimes.

Ive never used Textra.

I will admit that I went back to text her again and just set some different settings of differently. It is the most customizable one with the cleanest interface.

I forgot about it yaata again. I'll have to look into that again.

Yaata is too unfinished for my liking. While it's a nicely done app, the inconsistencies and incompatibilities make it less than a 100% experience. I'm also a Textra fan but it is a victim of it's own success, and is needlessly over complicated or feature rich, depending on how you look at it.

For now Samsung messages works very well and some Bixby fixes were just pushed out today.

Yeah teach their own. For me I do agree that yaata is almost to Future rich and overly complicated to set up. As far as Textra doesn't reason why it's the most popular texting app in the Play Store. The stock Samsung texting app is okay but it's very cumbersome to use. For example it's subdivided between messaging and contacts. Why do we need a contact Section if I have a phone application that has a contact Section? To me, it makes no sense.

Thanks to threads like this I gave Textra Pro another go.
Seems it doesn't like Oreo just yet.
Back to Signal or Messages.
