Android OS and Google Play service draining Battery in Lollipop 5.0.2

Hi, My moto g2 was recently updated to lollipop. my battery life is really worsen, need to charge my phone twice a day. when i check my battery usage google service and android os are draining all my battery life. is someone facing the same issue. please suggest tips to improve the same.

I already performed hard reset and cache wipe in recovery mode.

Had posted the same thread in Moto G2 forum didn't get any help, hopefully will get a solution here.

If you are rooted then look into wakelock detector and wakelock terminator.
These two apps will tell you what is keeping your phone awake and draining battery.

I was just updated to 5.0 on my Samsung 5.0 and have the same problem. I cannot get away from a charger.

I upgraded to Lollipop a while back and my battery life has gotten much worse since I upgraded. I have to charge my phone all the time - keeping a charger with me constantly - at least two to three times a day! Mine shows that my Android OS is taking up 30% of my battery life and my Android System is taking up 23%. I kill all my apps and it still tells me that I'm using 1.36GB of my 1.67GB RAM with 0 apps running!

I'm also getting these pop ups that say "just for you" and/or try to make me download something from the Play Store. Most often it's an MP3 downloader of some kind.

How can I get these to stop and get my battery life back?

Killing apps certainly will NOT make things better. Android needs to learn app usage patterns and killing apps makes that impossible.

Try wiping the cache partition first. If that doesn't help, do a full reset.

The mp3 thing sounds suspicious. A full reset may be the best thing honestly. And one that's done, disable carrier bloatware.
