Android OS constantly uploading?

In my battery stats in settings android OS is always at the top and over the last week it has uploaded 600+mb. I downloaded a data usage app to see if it would give me more detail about what was uploading constantly and it looks like a system app called 'root' (see attachment) which I can't find in apps list in settings. I've cleared cache partition and a factory reset last night and this morning it's uploading. Anybody know anything about this 'root' app and possibly fix the issue?

Have you tried installing a process monitoring app? Something like OS Monitor?
Knowing there is a progam running rouge is one thing, finding it sometimes can be even harder. Programs like OS Monitor can help find it.

Depending on who your carrier is, it could be one those bloatware programs they push to your phone causing it.
I have Verizon, and they hid a program deep called DT Ignite. It would download programs when it wanted to, if I uninstalled one of those programs (Slacker Radio for example), it would reinstall it immediately.
Disabling it cleared that up.

OS Monitor, plus searching forums like this one helped me narrow it down.

Another day of 'root' uploading plenty of data. Deleted my google account and all other backup was turned off and still uploading in the background. It only seems to be uploading while i'm using the phone, nothing uploads while the phone is idle.
