I'm not so sure I get the gestures either, having the three buttons there makes just as much sense if not more if you are going to keep the home button there all the time anyway. Then you just have to tap vs swipe to get to recent apps.

I went back to Oreo. I really regret it as I liked the speed and the gestures. But for me it was to unstable to use as a dialy driver. For me the BlackBerry Suite is the most important app for work and it was not working properly.

Bluetooth is better in that you can have two devices connected at once. Like my FM transmitter in the car and my BT headset, which I couldn't do in Oreo
Yeah my Bluetooth is way better. On the April update of Oreo most of my BT devices wouldn't reconnect when turned on, I always had to go into BT settings and manually reconnect them. Other than it not remembering which device I use for phone calls in the car (I have a small BT earpiece that people can hear me on better than using my head unit and my LG G6 would remember and also let you switch devices from the call screen) I've been much happier with BT on this beta.

On another note, I turned off the gestures and am back to buttons. I can get into recent apps and swipe up for the app drawer better I think with separate buttons.

where is the "pill"? If it's a widget I'm not seeing or finding it
Um

I did the same thing for the same reason. BB Hub just would not work right.

Just seen that for myself. Yes Lloyds worked but Barclays says that "oops something went wrong". Luckily I have my iPhone 6s as a backup.
Really good and seemingly stable beta however, if its not been already mentioned the Barclays banking app is NOT working in the UK, Lloyds bank app is fine.
Yeah I have a banking app not working too, it's got me on the fence. I already went back to buttons so I might just go back to the stable for awhile till the next build but it's tough because everything else is fine.

No problems so far. I just plug it in and it launches like it did back when I was on Android O.

Weird, I can't get AA to work either. Doesn't launch. Also DirectvNow didn't work and when listening to Spotify the volume would decrease automatically ever so often. Going back to Oreo unfortunately.

I see a lot of people reverting cause they don't like the gestures but they can simply just turn them off. Haha

So far since day 1 of P beta.. No issues (except what I mentioned w/ the deleting text threads).

Enjoying Android P a ton. Especially since I have gotten used to the gestures.

I used it again all day to today. Plug in and go. AA working like normal with maps / GPM.

I don't know, I'm not finding it any more fluid. I find it more janky and unintuitive.

I find tapping the square multi-task button once to pull up the app carousel is faster and easier than swiping up from the home button. And I can still cycle through the last two apps by double tapping the multi-task button, which I find easier and faster than swiping right from the home button. When I'm in an app, I can press the home button and swipe up to get the app drawer faster than the new method, which requires an even longer swipe up, or two swipes. I can't just flick up to get the app drawer anymore. I think David Ruddock from Android Police sums up my thoughts well: https://www.androidpolice.com/2018/05/09/android-ps-gesture-navigation-bad-google/

For those who have used an iPhone X for an extended period of time will know what good gestures are like and how that implementation is really quite good. Google's attempt is not very well thought out or executed well.

Again, it's still beta, so I hope this gets improved a whole lot.

Yeah , I hear ya .

I'm liking the gestures . I don't have an issue in getting to the app drawer, or using the pill to scroll tho my recents in the carousel, or doing the quick flick up to see the carousel .
Once I got use to the feel for it

So far all my apps are still working as expected . Still happy with this early beta,I have no plans to opt out of beta at this time on either the Pixel sailfish or the Pixel 2 XL

2 more apps misbehaving are LBC (which won't even open) and LBC Podcasts (which played for about 20 minutes and then closed itself). Pocketcasts works ok though.

Try reinstalling AA

Curious what you all are using for a texting app since Textra is not working properly. I went back to the OEM for now but if Textra won't get fixed anytime soon(probably won't)I'd like to find one that works properly. Is Message+ working? Anyone?
