ok guys I found 1 issue once in awhile is my phone will not have service for like 3 minutes in certain areas which never happened before it go from lte to h+ to zero service for couple minutes then back to LTE...I knew I spoke to soon about being perfect beta lol

Hmm .. wonder if it is a bug with GSM carriers. Mine can't fall back to HSPA or GSM (just 3G CDMA). So far I haven't seen anything but LTE though. My area is bathed in it.

Well I opted in. This update is awesome. One question I have, is there anyway to put the clock in the status bar back on the right instead of the left?

Don't think you can move the clock. Did you get the Gear app to work? Mine never did (switched back to O because of it).

I haven't had any issues with my watch. As long as I'm getting the notifications on my watch that's all I care about. I haven't tried to open the gear app because I haven't had a need to. My Gear S2 Classic paired up with my phone and shows notifications just like it always has.

Downloaded it today on my Pixel XL (running Nova Launcher), which is my business mobile and one I only really use for calls and texts and emails, if/when I'm out and about on business

So far zero issues, quite like the new menu/settings and how the volume appears when you press the volume keys etc

Won't download it, yet, to my XL 2 until I know it's more stable

But so far so good and enjoying the new look :)

I found no problems so far. I love new navigation some what i loved in Webos but needs the back up jester. The battery is much better.

Textra is releasing version 3.46 on 05/24 that will address the Android 9 problems they are aware of.

Just to update; I use Textra and it crashes when I try to delete a text, so I've sent in a report on that

yeah, lots of reports have been sent in. perhaps the above mentioned fix is coming out tomorrow. I've since switched to pulse which I have grown to like.

Pulse is awesome but beware of 2 issues with it..1. verification via sms of apps will not push through properly. I had to switch to android messages to get NatWest to verify, for instance. 2. Sometimes messages sent do not arrive at their destination, either at all or a few days after they are sent.

I had to stop using Pulse for those 2 reasons.

Thanks for the heads up. And, hmmmm, I may have had that number 2 issue once already. That would explain it.

Posted this question awhile back and didn't get clarification, figured to try again this time with a link.

Can someone running the P beta on a ---regular Pixel 2---not the XL--- please confirm whether the black crush issue has been addressed?

Please click on the link below which was posted in another forum, it contains a 16-bit test image and will easily show the issue. If possible post a photo (not a screen shot, as this won't tell us anything).

Here's the thread discussing this issue:

https://www.reddit.com/r/GooglePixel/comments/77cax8/pixel_2_black_crush_issue_pic_xpost_from/

And here is the link to the test image from that thread:

Thank you so much to anyone who will kindly try this and report.

The Textra delete issue is annoying, but not a show stopper. I am sure the problem has been addressed in version 3.46.

Messages can be deleted from the Quick Response screen when you get a "HEADS UP" notification. I added a "Delete" option in the notification tray and delete the message immediately after I have read it without opening the app.

Apologize as I have a 2XL... Which actually had more of these issues than the smaller 2... The gradients are maintained properly even at lower brightness levels... So at least the larger screen got tweaked. Doesn't help you much though.

been noticing a few issues with P beta. Google Maps seems to quit and force close often when you click on a location to view info, stores, places of interest, that sort of thing. soon as I click on something to look at the info the app closes. this is also happening relatively frequently with Facebook. app seems to force close a lot when clicking on links. I didn't notice this originally, maybe I just missed it or it wasn't happing, not sure.

No, I think the intent to open a link was broken. It seems to be addressed in today's app update though.

I bit the bullet and ordered another Pixel 2, will be delivered today. The interesting thing is, is that the display model in the Verizon store I went to did not exhibit any black crush. I tried max brightness, disabling adaptive brightness, and then enabling adaptive brightness. Same results, no black crush. Every Pixel 2 (non-XL) that I've tried had the same black crush issue, this is so bizarre that the Verizon demo model doesn't have it. So it would seem to be a hardware issue then. Man, QC is non-existent at Google.

Textra version 3.46 has resolved the text delete crash issue.

Still having an issue with the app closing after sending a text. When in a conversation I need to keep reopening the app. Doesn't always do it but enough to be annoying. Was doing it before so not related to the delete crash issue.
