It is impossible to add a google home or mini using the google home app on my P2XL on beta. I even struggled to add a chromecast as well. In the end I had to use an OG Pixel XL running Oreo to add them. I had just bought a new Chromecast Ultra and a full sized Home. Oh well.

Funny you should mention that. I had a second mini sitting around and tried to add it but it would not do so. I could see it but it just kept timing out. I ended up adding it through my Pixelbook.

I swapped my speakers rooms and stuff on the beta so far (moved my Home out in the living room and put the mini in the bedroom).

Yeah I can see them once installed and can swap rooms etc. But the brand new devices could be seen to set up but just timed out like Mike Dee said. It was as if the phone couldn't connect to the devices to set them up. I spent over an hour trying until I got the OG Pixel out. Then they connected first try.

been noticing a few issues with P beta. Google Maps seems to quit and force close often when you click on a location to view info, stores, places of interest, that sort of thing. soon as I click on something to look at the info the app closes. this is also happening relatively frequently with Facebook. app seems to force close a lot when clicking on links. I didn't notice this originally, maybe I just missed it or it wasn't happing, not sure.

I had the same issue with Google maps force closing. I merely cleared both storage and cache for the app, and now it's working beautifully. Try it out.

I think earlier in the thread someone mentioned the volume buttons only controlling media volume now.

maybe this has also been mentioned, but I stumbled upon a way to have them change the notification volume also. it seems that when you get a notification, if you click the volume buttons it will pull out the slider with both the media and ringer volume controls.

I was trying to turn up a video when a text came in and it triggered the two sliders. I clicked the volume controls again right after the next notification came in (like as soon as the chime stopped) and sure enough both sliders popped up.

still not the greatest execution as you have to play Quick Draw McGraw as soon as you feel/hear a notification.

I've had the beta since they released it and I wasn't getting good battery life like everyone was posting on here. so I did a factory reset and now the adaptive battery will turn itself off and battery still isn't any better for me. anyone else see this happening?

Not had this issue. Sorry.

I have a weird bug. Since I changed my wallpaper, I have no lockscreen image, just this kind if weird circle-libe thingy on a black background. I have tried to change the lockscreen wallpaper several times and it has stayed this weird image thing. Look behind my notifications in the image below. Anyone else lose their lockscreen image?

Kirstein,
Have you tried restarting your device? Did the restart restore the lock screen wallpaper? I was experiencing a weird issue similar to yours. The album cover art for my music streaming app would appear in the lock screen even after closing the app. The original lock screen wallpaper reappeared after a restart.

Still having an issue with the app closing after sending a text. When in a conversation I need to keep reopening the app. Doesn't always do it but enough to be annoying. Was doing it before so not related to the delete crash issue.

Have you tried uninstalling Textra, restarting your device and reinstalling the app? That was the recommendation I received from Textra support when I first reported the original text delete issue to them. Good luck.

Funnily enough, I just restarted and my lockscreen picture has now come on.

Thanks, the recent update fixed it

I think this is a common issue with the beta. Everytime i stream with play music the album art gets stuck on the lockscreen wallpaper. I've seen others mention this as well.

Is there a better way of getting to the settings now? You have to double pull down on the notification panel like you had to do with the brightness slider on Oreo.

I've always had a shortcut to my settings either on my home screen or on the app drawer, much quicker than pulling down twice.
