Android Pie

Got mine at about noon local time today after mashing the update button 3 or 4 times. Unlocked Pixel 2 XL running on Verizon. It looks a little Samsungy in the UI but I'll get used to it pretty quickly. I'm interested to try the gestures and see if I like them.

I hit the UPDATE button several minutes ago, and mine is just sitting there ... doin' nuthin'. So here I sit ... staring back at it just sitting there. Come on, Phone! I want PIE!

Ok it's installed on mine. Anywhere to view all the new stuff and how to do things? This is my first Android phone so I'm not familiar with a software update

There will now be tons of articles on all of the Android blogs explaining how to do stuff ... have no fear, you will soon be an expert!

Is Google still rolling out updates in waves? I'm "checking for updates" but getting nothing yet. I thought unlocked Pixel phones were supposed to get updates first?

I got the update. I bought my phone from Google and use it on Verizon.

Woo-Hoo! It's installed ...now probably going to leave Microsoft Launcher, and go with the Pixel Launcher (and put up with that ugggly Google search bar) to try out all of the new stuff!

Anyone with a Samsung Gear S2 3g upgrade yet? The release candidate didn't work with it, so had to go back to 8.1.

My Gear S3 Frontier still won't work. The Gear app on my Pixel continues to crash. A few other people are posting to complain in the Play Store.

Did I miss something a DP or two back? Has the toggle in Battery settings to show battery percentage in status bar been available before now? I used to use that Percent Enabler app to do that, but after updating, my status bar was reading 100% instead of the correct 67%.

I disabled the PE app and then noticed the toggle and voila. Back to normal.

Yeah I have had that even before P. The pic here was before I install the final update -- https://forums.androidcentral.com/showthread.php?t=901789&p=6297256&viewfull=1#post6297256

Anyone not on Verizon and have Android P beta get the update yet? I have hit the check for update million times and still nothing. Might sideload sometime later today if nothing shows up.

Not on Verizon, and I've got nothing here.

Shouldn't Pixel phones bought from Google's own website get the updates along with the first wave???

They may have not hit the switch yet? Not sure. Also while it does sound like the second part of your question is right that was never guaranteed from Google or anything.

Crappy T-Mobile at it again, for some reason if you have a T-Mobile sim always delays the update. I have an old AT&T sim around, put that in, reboot, hit check update and viola. Installing now !!! Carriers suck.

I did the DP5, but I loaded from scratch and the Gear software crashed. So went back to 8.1.

However today, just loaded 9.0 official and just tried and it all seems working. So I am not going to reload. I have the Samsung S2 3g from Verizon.
