Android Security patch

Hi all

I have a BlackBerry Keyone (which is great) running Android nougat purchased from Vodafone.

Can someone tell me who is responsible for sending out any security patches? I am currently showing July 2017 and when contacting VF they say it is down to BlackBerry! Is that true as some stuff I have read say anything other than a phone from Blackberry.com is down to the carrier.

Any ideas.
Thanks in advance.

BlackBerry Mobile is responsible for security patches, not carriers. If carriers are delayed it's because they're taking more time to test updates and approve them for release. Ultimately they have to support the updates since they're the ones whose phones will ring off the hook if an update breaks something.

Thanks for the reply - much appreciated.
Will it be my carrier then who should eventually push this out to my phone? Vodafone are saying it is nothing to do with them.

Updates should com from BBMo, however I'm not sure how they handle their schedule with each carrier. Monthly security patches seem to be all over the map on timing.

You might want to check over on CB if you haven't already. The KEYone discussion here on AC is pretty small in comparison. https://forums.crackberry.com/blackberry-keyone-f445/
