After updating to Nougdat, my battery is draining rapidly even when in airplane mode with medium battery saver turned on. Android System and Android OS are at the top of the list. Ideas?

There has been at least 3 discussions on this. Take a look. Most of the time, wiping cache will fix it as it did with mine. You also have to remember that alot of the apps installed on your phone just need an update to work better with Android 7.

Wiped cache two days ago. Have updated all of my apps. Read all of the other threads prior to posting and nothing suggested helped or hadn't already been tried.

Wipe the device if none of the other threads helped or wiping cache helped. Thats the only other step left.

Going on a week with the update and I am getting 8 plus hours with heavy use emails photos and heavy web browsing. Before battery life was horrendous!

"Good" and "horrendous" are relative terms - what's fantastic to one could be terrible to another.

Eight hours from 100% to 50% (which is about what your graph shows) is good for any Android phone. BTW, NEVER let the battery drop much below 40%, or you'll be sending it in for a new battery. Lithium batteries are not deep discharge batteries. (I've always had my phones set to turn off at 38%, but I normally start recharging between 50% and 45%. And I have batteries that are years old and still working fine. Even my 2004 V551 still has the original battery, even though it's about as useful as a buggy whip by now.)

I charged mine to 100% last night, then left it off the charger overnight. Nine hours later, I had 93% left. So I don't think there's an endemic flaw in Nougat.

My numbers are really low. Like suggested, I would wipe the cache. I left this phone at home yesterday and took my Note 5 with me. I love the standby times on Nougat.

I did a factory wipe after wiping cache multiple times and the factory wipe has only helped a small amount. After getting things back to my liking and using the phone for a bit, I noticed a few apps using a lot of battery, Gear VR Services, Google Play Services, Help, Knox, Settings, and Update Apps. I though I disabled Gear VR Services and Knox, but apparently something is still running.

I don't know how else I can stop these app from using some much of the battery.

Not sure where you got that info from. I have always charged my phones to 100% going down as little as 5%. No problems at all with cell phones with at least 3 years use each kind.

Agreed. I airways let every phone I use go down to 5% before I recharge then and I have never had to replace a battery. I've done this on all the of my S7 Edge phone's. Every iPhone since 2007 and my Note 4/Note Edge. All are perfect to this day. My old iPhone 3GS still shows its battery capacity as being 98%. Just charge the battery when you like to charge. 5% wont harm it in any way.

I don't think that can be considered good if it was in airplane mode and on battery saver, sitting on my nightstand while I was asleep. All of my other Samsung phones would lose a few percent at most in the same situation.

My battery usage looks like the same as the OP. Not completely the same number % but close. I've already cleared cache after I updated to nougat. I don't want to do a factory reset.

It's not likely to cause major problems, but it's not the best way to treat Li batteries. They're happiest and retain capacity the longest, if not discharged below about 25%. This information is readily available if you search for it.

So i sum up all the problems regarding android system battery drain in s7 edge and after applying this settings i got my battery running normal again.solutions are as follows
