I just bought the official google USB Type-C to USB Standard-A cable so that I can use it with my Anker 2nd Gen Astro E4. Just to clarify, charging my phone using that cable with the E4 won't damage or cause any problems with the phone/battery, correct? Basically, it just won't rapidly charge the phone? Thank you for any help on this! Happy Holidays!

Charger isn't the issue. It's the cable itself that causes issues. But if it's from Google then it will be fine. What happens is the came doesn't have the correct resistor so the phone wants to pull 3Amps and the charger supplies 1a, 2.1a, 2.4a etc... This is there the issue is. It pulls more then the charger outputs which causes the charger to heat up past its operating temp.

Issues can be from a very warm adapter to a melting adapter causing a fire. Not saying it will cause a fire but has the potential.
