another battery post

Depending upon what else is going on and brightness level, 6% percent loss in an hour of screen time is pretty darn good.

Charged overnight and now look At battery. 6% loss in under an hour?View attachment 83495

I read your Private Message so I'm responding to that and the quoted image. The image I quoted is actually normal because it depends on when you remove it from the charger. A phone doesn't actually continue to charge once it's at 100% so it will drain. You may get a trickle charge but it's so little that it will drain. The phone will generally show 100% at this point but it could realistically be at 95% so the first 10% isn't exactly the best way to gauge your overall battery life. Although you losing 6% with nearly an hour of screen time isn't bad either way you look at it.

Your other images are excellent. You were on Wi-Fi it appears so the numbers are inflated from where they would be on 4G LTE but you definitely have a battery that works the way it was intended.

Off charger 6am CST Saturday and now its 9pm Sunday. See screen shots. How do I stop android os from using 10% of the battery? Does this also mean I can talk for another hour before the battery is totally dead?

Turn off the things running in the background used by this process. Turn off touchless access, active notifications, and widgets that update in the background, any apps that update in the background that put data into notifictations. Turn off Google Now.

Or, keep those things on and be happy that you have one of the few phones that can keep all of those things on and not be dead in less than a day.

I have only had my Maxx for a week and I do have some stuff running in the back round and do not live in a strong signal area. I average about 1 hour of calls and 2 hours of screen time per day which equals about %2.5 to %3 of battery use per hour over the length of a single charge. Simply stated my Droid Maxx goes 36 plus hours on a charge in my case. Not bad at all :-)

Yeah, I flipped mine on Sat. late p.m./early evening...did the migration, updates everything on board already, played with all the Settings I could remember, installed a few apps yesterday and played with more Settings, took a few calls and sent some texts today...all this mostly on wifi, been away from wifi maybe 3 hours total so far, and battery is still 56%! Probably won't have to charge until late tomorrow. That's back to my old Palm days.

While using my phone during a hike yesterday I noticed that the case had popped off on the left side of the phone. I squeezed it back on, but noticed that the display had some bulge to it (checked flatness with a credit card). Battery must have bulged for some reason...my replacement should be here tomorrow from amazon.

Those of you still within the 14 day window should definitely check to be sure your display is still flat.

In my non expert opinion, signal strength is the one major effect on battery life that comes into play no matter how much or little one uses their phone.
If the phones radios are working at a high power level it will have a major effect on batter life.
In my case I am now using my phone in places I never could before, a fair trade.

What do you mean flipped your phone?

See screen shots. Again, I'm not complaining just want to make sure my battery is good. Doesn't look like I can get 2 days out of this. Is this normal?
Off charger at 7 am today

You're fine Conan. No need to worry about your battery because your numbers are fine. Of course you won't get 48 hours with heavy usage. People need to remember that the testing is done in an ideal environment under moderate usage at most.

Hey Conan,
Over 2 hours of calls, 1 1/2 hours of screen time and after more then 12 hours you have 67% left. That's amazing!

When I'm on wifi most of the day and not using the phone much, I trend toward 48 to 50 hours battery life. When I'm traveling, on mobile data most of the day, or using the phone heavily, I trend closer to 32 to 38 hours per day. Right now I am averaging about use that would give me 39 hours.

I generally have about 2 to 3 hours screen on time between waking up and going to bed. So, I'd say that I'm not a terribly heavy user.

My worst day was when I was in a no signal area for about 4 hours and the phone was at 28% battery left after about 17 hours. Any other phone I used would have been dead on that day after about 10 to 12 hours.

Stats from yesterday at 7 am, off while asleep, going on charger at 10 am

So, you're trending to 34 hours with a trend to 6 hours screen time and 4 hours voice calls. Looks like the battery life I would see from my experience.

Not as good battery today. Off charger at 7 am and pics taken at 10pm

Since I don't have WiFi available for me at work, I have to rely a lot on 4G-LTE, which we all know eats up a lot of battery. When I got the Maxx, I worked it hard to see how long it could last without using WiFi for data, and also some time using GPS Navigation; which also eats up a lot of battery. I did roughly 15hrs 30mins on 4G-LTE, about 1hr 45mins on GPS Navigation, and about 1hr 30mins on WiFi. In addition, I was using Google Chrome a lot, Facebook, Twitter, E-Mail, mobile games, and at least 3+hours listening to podcasts. I got 5hrs 30mins screen time, which is about 2hrs more than I normally do on a regular day. I would say the Maxx will definitely see me through 1 solid day, which is all I'm really asking for.
