another camera question for a newbie? (manual mode)

For someone who has only used poor to average cell phone camera with decent results, will it be relatively easy or complicated to use manual mode?

For example I'm at a concert, and I use automatic mode and results aren't to my liking, color is weird or blur, is it usually difficult to learn or know what settings I need to switch?

The consensus ive gotten in tons of reports and articles is that the gs6 may have easier and better first shots but the G4 can be cleaned up later in editing. As a rookie/newbie that sort of concerns me, as if the g4 could possibly be too good a camera but I can't figure out how to use it properly. I'm all about simplicity and from some of the reads it seems to steer me towards the gs6

When using manual settings, you don't have to set everything manually. For example, you could set the shutter speed to one that you judged to be suitable for the subject, and let the ISO setting take care of itself. That's what I do with my Nokia Lumias when photographing steam trains, for example: I know what the camera cannot know, that a fast shutter speed is needed to freeze the motion of the train. The camera then automatically sets the appropriate ISO setting to give correct exposure at that shutter speed. I could adjust the ISO manually as well if I thought that the auto exposure was unlikely to be reliable in awkward lighting - into the sun, say - but that would not be necessary in average lighting conditions.
Similarly with the other settings. In your concert hall shots, you might want to adjust the white balance yourself, but you could probably leave the focus on auto. In fact, you might find that the camera performs perfectly well with everything left on auto. Also, a great deal can be done to make improvements at the editing stage.
Photography is not all that difficult if you master the technique bit by bit, rather than trying to understand it all at once. :)

Thank you for the reply. There are def way more goods for me as a whole with the g4...battery, size, storage cars...besides the camera. I don't mean to sound like a worried 4 year old or a nag, but I was scarred from the Turbo. I lost so many concerts and games worth of pictures simply because I couldn't get a good shot.

At one point I had 5 different camera APS installed, but ultimately the slow shutter as a whole couldn't be fixed. Not as high quality camera was in the Maxx, but the build was better enough to get me way more useable shots. I'm really bummed over all the missed shots I had. So I'm going all in as concert season is starting for the year, and want to pick the best for me. As long as I can get consistently useable shots from the G4 I'll be so happy. If I learn more about it and get better at pics, I'd be overjoyed

I'm just of learning to take manual shots, so I'm still mostly using auto mode with phones. I had the G3 and it took great auto shots. One thing you'll like is the optical image stabilization which should help you take better shots during concerts.
